Returned
Smug had been on quite the trek. First she had gone to fulfill her duties and scout the surroundings for packs. There didn't seem to be any large packs where she had been looking, small families and rogues sure were abundant though. She did her best to avoid direct confrontation since it was a scouting mission, and had slipped by unnoticed on most occasions after spending a couple days waiting and watching the dens that had been claimed. The whole time she had managed to keep her head in the game and thoughts focused on the task at hand. Her rigorous training and frequent hunting practice had kept her from becoming fatigued or going hungry during the month she had spent memorizing the territories. If anything, she was pretty sure that she couldn't get lost around these parts anymore, and she had a few groups to report back. It hadn't been entirely successful though... Once her mission was over and she had begun her return home though, it was much harder to do so. Mind insisted on flicking back to her last conversation with members of her pack. Well... it was more she was there while Vad and Yus had been conversing. She hadn't been involved much since she was stewing in her thoughts and mixed feelings at the time. It all boiled down to the same thing: humans. For some unfathomable reason to her, they still managed to exert control over her thoughts and actions sometimes without her even realizing it. Smug had had quite enough of being gripped in a hallucination only to hurt her friends, experiencing raging emotions when it came to control, and her hesitance to return back to Vechnyy's origins since her past was so close nearby to their old den. So she had set out on a detour before returning home and found a human camp to face her fears and finally try to master them. (this whole trek and such will be in a storymode rp I am working on) Long story short, woman made it out of there with some goodies and injuries but feeling better and more confident as a whole. She had also taken out a potential threat of humans by leaving a trail of bodies behind, oh yeeahhhh. Human blood caked in her fur, mixing with her own. She was currently deaf in one ear, due to a gun going off right next to her skull, with a small trickle of blood oozing from it, though her hearing would eventually return. A bullet was lodged in her shoulder blade where it had previously been mauled, simply adding a glorious bullet wound scar and annoying stiffness if she kept in one position for too long. Barbed wire had caught at her neck and legs leaving many superficial yet bleeding gouges over them, and a wire was still stuck around her neck - biting in whenever she moved. It brought back memories of her pronged collar although it didn't dig nearly as deep. Lastly, she had singed patches of fur along her side and hip from being stabbed with a cattle prod which would hopefully heal. It could have been worse. In terms of goodies, a box of donuts, 2 apple pies, and a pile of jerky filled the plastic bag dangling from jaws. Despite being in such ragged shape, her eyes were bright and the adrenaline coursing through her kept her moving at a steady pace back home. Woman had tried to hightail it home as soon as the smell started to grow. Smug knew she couldn't be out here smelling of heat, especially while in such poor condition to fend off horny males. Why they couldn't just keep their dicks in their pants she couldn't fathom.... Though she wasn't really one to talk now was she? Efforts were met unsuccessfully as she slipped while treading down a cliff, her bad shoulder causing front leg to cave in, and was sent tumbling down the rockface. Fuck... The contents of her bag ended in much better condition than she had, if not a little smushed. Painful breaths were dragged through lungs as she lay limp on her side. After a while she managed to crawl into a hidey hole and tough out her period of in heat while caked in mud where others could not find her. There was no way she could make it home during such a time with the rogues she had seen hanging about. After it had passed, though her wounds were barely healed, she made her way back home once more with a fresh set of new wounds from the fall. A serious limp had claimed her front leg while ribs were cracked. A major concussion gripped her cranium and blood insisted on oozing from her mouth, often hacking globs of sticky crimson into the dirt. Finally she neared the clearing and limped into the shallows of the pond. Home sweet home. Goodies were left on the bank while she took long dredges of water to quench her burning thirst. Body flopped to the ground, relieved to be off shaking limbs, and tongue lolled out in a pant as pain touched her. There she began to try and clean herself.
Cinnema had been for the most part sleeping off her stress from the punishment Nida had pounded in on her. Aka mostly the tail, dizziness, and the fact that she couldn't sit right on her ass. Why did Nida have to want the booty so much? Cuz now it hurt. Sigh. At least, when she wasn't accidentally scraping it, that was healing well. And she was pretty much recovered from being half-drowned, thankfully! The only things that bothered her yet were her scabbed over cheek, and the segment of tail that she was missing, for the reason that she just wasn't used to not having it. Swimming, once she felt well enough to try that again, would probably be a little challenging to get used to once more.. Oh well. Cin stretched and woke herself up from an afternoon nap, careful not to irritate the healing patches on her butt as she pulled herself up off the ground and shook out her fur. Groosss, she'd almost slept all day. But she was feeling better, enough that she wasn't pained in just getting up. Cinnema just itched like hell where her skin was healing. Nose went to sniffing about the densite for any available food, not that any was found. She suppressed a grumble at that. What was that, no one catching anything for their healing queen? Just rude. But that was fine, she could manage to feed herself, maybe just after cleaning herself up a little. She hadn't yet cleaned dirt and blood and drool off of herself, simply out of anxiety to leave the den. Too much going on, and she wanted to stay close to home just in case. Careful steps took her in the way toward the water, but not many were taken before a strong scent reached her nose. With alarm, and remaining fraction of her tail stuck into the air, she charged in that direction. Short, high howl was let out to alert anyone nearby as she spotted Smug at the river's side. Surely she needed help. "What happened?" she asked briefly, immediately coming forward to sniff carefully around and find injuries. Wow she did not look well whatsoever.
Vadimir forced himself to care for the lands as he ought to, even though in his heart he yearned to only be with one person. Adding Vechnyy's scent to the landscape, beating the absolute tar out of anyone that decided to come by. On his quest to mark the boundaries, he did sub-par. He hadn't really had a good meal or something to drink in days, thus he had but only so much to contribute in the way of warning signs. With this in mind he wandered off the territory to find something to make a meal out of, but instead found a group of three wolves looking for trouble. Vadimir obliged, though not without something to pay for it. He sent them all packing, but with a torn up face and a limp. He'd roar after 'em, but frankly was quite glad they were gone. SUCKS T'BE YOU BIIITCHES. Next was his endeavor to hunt. But obviously, in his current state, he wasn't catching shit. Didn't stop him from trying, of course. But four tumbles and a drop into a stone cold creek later, Vad found himself willing to admit defeat.... FOR NOW. Stumbling and wobbling his way home, he'd run quite accidentally into a group of ducks. FUCK YEAH. He'd barrel his way into the flock, trapping two beneath his broad chest and catching one by the wing before it had a chance to fly off. Killing all three, he took the brace of water fowl and hurried home, as fast as his battered and bruised body could manage. But just as he got over the hill, Cinn's alert call would hit his ear-and-a-half and went charging down into the Vechnyy land with his own muffled RAWR in return. He'd bust into the courtyard, by... well. Busting his ass. Trip, fall, stumble, skid to a stop at Cinn's feet. Then he'd be up and whirling about, before staring at the Tsarita like WHERE'S THE FIRE?! Then he'd see Smug in the water, calm as hell, cleaning herself up. Ducks be damned, they dropped from his mouth like quackers miste Johanson. "Smug... vot happened to you, vhere have you been??"
Yusef had been gone for...Oh, how long? He'd run away! Run far, far away from home. Not because he didn't love home, not because he didn't love Vechnyy, but for exactly for that reason. He loved them all too much, so much that his little heart was fit to burst and he didn't know what to do with all of these..FEELINGS. These horrible, twisty, windy feelings that buried themselves into him and filled him all up until he was so close to simply vomiting them all out in a horrific string of incomprehensible babble. Not to mention he was 100% certain these feelings weren't normal. Normal feelings were different. They weren't THESE feelings. And so, he'd simply run away, because maybe if he was gone from the reasons for these feelings, he wouldn't feel them anymore, and he could finally behave normally. That wasn't the case, though. Instead, he'd left and instead a NEW feeling had made itself known. One he'd NEVER felt before, in all of his time with Vechnyy. That feeling was the horrible, crushing blackness known as 'loneliness'. He'd wandered, not quite lost but most certainly alone, and only come across one other canine who was....just annoying on a level he hadn't previously thought possible. And thought. And stewed. And those feelings didn't go away--not in the least. Instead they festered inside of him and grew thick and acrid and unsettled everything inside of him, and the lonesomeness stirred it and nursed it until they were all a massive beastly conglomeration of horrible, terrible feelings! And he'd struggled and pushed and pulled and fought until.... Yusef finally broke. It was a peaceful sort of hollowness now. An empty feeling, leaving him floating in the cool, calm cradle of indifference. That seemed fine. Well enough. Even good, maybe. And so with that, he decided well..he could probably return home, right? Right. Of course. Nothing wrong at all....No problems here. And so, the nearly-yearling finally set foot on Vechnyy soil again. He was not so foolish as to come home without a treat, however, so he brought with him a mouthful of partridges. Feisty little buggers. At least he was a good hunter.
Smug stared down at her reflection as ripples distorted her features. From what she gathered, she really looked like shit. Ugh. The rusted barbed wire around her neck was really irritating but she had tried to remove it a few times since she knew the risk of infection, but the futile attempts had only resulted in deeper gashes running up her neck. She felt like one big bruise and her vision swam from the concussion, black spots blocking out chunks. Her fur was heavily matted with caked mud and blood and she could smell the two-leggeds on her very easily. Blegh, that stench.... Head was about to lower and dip beneath surface when noises behind her caught her attention. Whatever it was was close since her one-sided hearing made it more difficult to catch sounds farther away. Forgetting she was home, body shot up spraying water everywhere. Woman whipped around with teeth bared in a vicious snarl at who dared try to approach her. Fuck if she was gonna let some wolf get the best of her. Cinn? Confused look crossed face before she remembered crossing the border. Her shot equilibrium and torturous injuries had her tilting soon after the adrenaline rushed out of her. Uh oh. Frame crashed back down into the water, landing heavily on the slippery rockbed. Short yelp echoed forth as her cracked ribs lanced pain throughout her body. After a few laborious breaths, head turned to gaze up at Cinn, now joined by one of the marshmallows, with a casual expression. "Oh hey... just taking a dip, don't mind me." She forced herself up onto her belly once more with a grunt. Why were they staring at her? Oh right... Small shake of the head left her dizzy but memory returned through the haze of thick cotton clouding her senses. "Oh.. I went scouting like Drak had spoken about. I was tired of sitting around on my ass and hunting for the other lazy asses here. How long have I been gone?" Face scrunched up as she tried to recall how many moons had passed. Nope, couldn't remember after having drifted in and out of consciousness after her fall. "Took out a camp of humans too that were posing a threat. Brought you all some goodies so go get em before they expire..." With that, Smug craned neck around, wincing as the motion pulled the muscles across her ribs, and tongue cleaned out her newly-acquired bullet wound.
Cinnema was ready to either kick some serious ass, or do some serious recon, judging by the awful smells that had wafted to her before she'd realized it was one of the missing pack members. Forget her own state, that wasn't nearly as important as dealing with shit that involved Vechnyy. No way. Honestly with all the smells she wasn't sure what to expect, but, oh well. It was probably a good thing it was only Smug.. In a horrible state, yeah, but.. They got this. Eyes surveyed over the woman before her and she halted instantly when she turned and went to snap, causing a brief second of pain from her recent injuries and a flinch on her face. Hesitantly she'd take steps forward, only to gasp and leap forward in an attempt to catch her from falling over. A moment too late, and she pulled herself short to land in front of her, nose traveling over her face with concern. Had she passed out? No, no, good. Stressed gaze was turned on Vad as she realized he had come, and she pulled herself up and into, well, a crouch before Smug, sniffing toward her neck but careful not to touch the embedded wire. Ouchh. Lips curled back slightly in a grimace when the first part answer to come out was a joke. Hell! "A few months, as much as I know.." she'd murmur softly, pulling her head back and away. She didn't want to accidentally hurt her. Quite honestly she wasn't entirely sure how to help. Lip would fall and she'd squint rather sternly, the fur along her spine lifting with the thought of Smug going by herself into such a dangerous situation.. "That was a really fucking stupid thing to do." Said yet in a low and conflicted voice. She was so concerned and so pissed and she wasn't sure what to do about that. She pulled herself up and took steps back, distancing a little but still eyeing the woman licking her wounds. Until another approach was noted, and her head flicked around to snarl at whoever or whatever it was. The noise was cut off when she realized it was yet another missing face. "Yusef.." Heck, she was all kinds of shocked right now. "Where did you go?" Unfortunately she sounded like she was scolding still, but she was pretty overwhelmed. At least it was taking her mind off of her own physical pains. Cautious steps would bring her to sniff at him as well, her third of a tail yet raised behind her. More out of uncertainty than anything. If allowed she would run her chin across his head and neck after a circle, unsettled eyes casting back over to Smug and Vad.. She wasn't..sure. What to do right now.
Vadimir stared down at Smug, listening to her and Cinn's dialogue as they filled each other in waves. His catches from earlier were entirely ignored, forgotten at his paws as he watched, listened, and digested the enormity of it. First Drak, and now Smug? Who was next, his children? He'd glance at the bag of goodies, his stomach growling. But he'd not bother with it. Not when there was...... dual hued eyes narrowed. Speak of the jersey devil himself. Yusef came striding in, carrying a partridge, though lacking the pear tree. Can't win 'em all, right? Both of them had brought back goodies, both of them had been gone for a lengthy stretch of time. And on Smug's end, she had come home looking half dead. Tired sigh escaped his lips then, before he went over to Smug, enjoying the cool relief of the water as he bent and extended his neck forward, jaws aimed for the wire wrapped around her neck. If she didn't shrug off his attentions, he'd be biting it, irregardless of damage to his gums or tongue, and rip it from her. He'd not be careful, only practical to ensure her throat wasn't slit in the process. Spitting it out upon the ground, he'd give a nod toward her injuries. "Help her get out ze rock in her body. It'll fester othervize." He'd have done it, but he had a son to greet. Striding to him, Vadimir would look him over, slow and deliberate. "You've grown." He'd say softly, gaze hooded. He'd aim to take the partridges, if Yus allowed. If he did, Vad would be whipping his head through the air to offer Yusef a bitchslap across the face with the bundle of feathered bodies. Seconds later he would drop them, either prepared to offer words, or prepare for the backlash of his actions. If Yus hadn't allowed the birds to be taken, Vad would give a snort, but simply take it without reproach. "Vhere have you been?" Same line as before, voice and choice of vocabulary identical.
Yusef gave up the birds, of course. They weren't for him, anyway. He even mildly expected the whiplash back at him, but he'd expected it to be done with teeth, not poultry. And so his response was probably what was expected--a snarl of surprise before he gnashed his jaws at the retreating fowl, snapping at the bird to capture a foot and tearing it away with a wild and harsh shake, wrenching and rending the little birdy leg away from the rest of its plump, feathery body. But once that was done, his expression smoothed itself right back out into vague indifference, a calm and unerringly cold mask that was 100% unsettling, coming from Yusef of all people. "...I needed some time avay." he replied cooly, his tone even and smooth. "I feel better now." His violet gaze shifted only slightly, to tilt his muzzle to the side to gaze at Smug and Cinn. Yusef's eyes half-lidded. "....Zen everybody important is still alive. Guud. I zuppose I am sluzhit now." he was not under any illusions that he would be welcomed back with open arms!
Solveig shook the dust from her fur as she rounded the corner of the rocky pile that made up Vechnyy's den. A day of patrolling the western border had ended up with a dirty coated lady with a bladder so empty she might pee straight dust if she tried to. Stepping into view of the courtyard, her typical tired-like gaze swept the area to see a couple of faces that she hadn't seen in a little while. Smug and Yusef. The former she didn't know at all, really, aside from face and name and the latter she knew so-so. The bitch idly swept her tongue over her nose before pushing further into the courtyard to find a place to settle. Somewhat out of the way, as per usual, she rolled her hind end into a sit and cocked her ears toward them. Shamelessling watching and listening in as to what was going on. Nosy rosy.
Zodiak was running--racing through the outskirting wood of the territory on a mission. The task? To find Every last fucking lazy member and get them to work or put them down. His last encounter with drak stirred anger, fear, and determination. Drak was permanately injured, sure he wasn't weak-or at least didn't show it... stubborn ass. Snort rocked his head downward with a shake of his neck, flinging vapor and saliva along his sides while eye continued to search the wood. Where are you.....? Running pace slowed to a stop as he glanced around finding nothing as usual. Lip curled in disgust and he changed direction to the path home. The more he came up empty handed.... the more angry he became. He had a job to do, the tsars were upset that he was finding nothing and when he did find those wolves....God help their souls. It was a quiet walk back, taking much of the time to catch breath and recompose himself before rejoining the others... or at least whoever was there. Ugh.... Pressing through into the open he'd take a few steps before pausing. Single ear was pressed forward and a chill that had hackles rising was present. Really.... With a light snort he'd trot over to the group, not giving much attention to the tsars and more to the missing wolves that had returned. Gaze first landed on smug.. damn she looked like shit. He'd shift to her first, admiring her wounds before quirking imaginary brow. "I hope they got what they deserved" he half joked with a sway of his tail. He'd remain there for a moment before his task at hand came back to train of thought. Gaze would flick over yusef and he remained reserved. Yus was an heir and in his eyes, unless he did something horribly wrong, was off limits. Let the tsars handle their child. Single eye then drifted to sol and slowly he approached her "where have you been?" low growl trailed over his voice in his continued slow approach "choose your words wisely because i'm only giving you one shot..." paws would cease forward locomotion when his nose was a hair from her own, amber eye blazing with fire.
Smug froze for a minute. A few months? It surely couldn't have been THAT long... Her scouting of the territories surrounding Vechnyy had taken about a month give or take. She focused really hard to try and remember. The concussion caused vision to swim uncomfortably when she focused too hard though, so she soon gave up. Woman didn't answer Cinn's next words of being stupid because she knew it was such, but at the same time... She had NEEDED to do it. Woman doubted she could make Cinn understand that in her current state, or maybe ever. The pale queen had no idea of the life Smug had been forced to live and so on. There was no way she could continue in Vechnyy, or in life, without first confronting and overcoming her fears and uncertainties from her past. Face showed trace amounts of her contriteness for Cinn's conflict on the matter, but head was held confidently and gaze was unwavering as it moved to the approaching figures of Yusef and Zodiak. Smug did not regret going on her mission. The Tsar distracted her by removing the accursed wire from around her throat. She fought the urge to growl and snarl as it bit into her tender flesh and caused fresh crimson to weep from wounds. "Thank you," she said quietly, aiming tongue to fall out and plant a lick on his cheek before he moved away. "I can do it though," she answered in reply to his next instructions and turned to her wound. Lip curled back to reveal incisors as she pressed against the wound in order to carefully clasp front teeth around the lip of the bullet and pull it out. It had embedded itself deep within her shoulder blade so it was a arduously painful process, but she held back the whimpers and cut through scabs and muscle to get at the thing and spit it into the water. Woman missed when Vad headed over and smacked the youth silly. Then Zod was there and offering her words. "Oh, they did indeed," she said with a flash of fire in eyes and creepy calmness to her voice. The scarred woman looked wicked , and lethal in that moment with wet blood coating her face and an unsettling smile adorning visage, despite the numerous wounds coating her body. Zodiak moved to Solv after that and only then was the other woman's presence noticed. Why was she in trouble too? WTF had she missed?! Everyone seemed so tense. The water quickly turned scarlet around her as her shoulder bled profusely. Ugh. So tired of this shit.
Cinnema would hesitate a moment while standing near Smug but none the less retreated to go and greet her son. Even that, though she knew he'd been gone for some time and was only just returning to them, was off and seemed hardly considered. She didn't want to focus on that right now.. Along with all the other stress on her, she didn't need to be questioning how she felt about someone else who was related to her returning. Or that would just put her in a worse mood, probably. As Vad made his way over, she simply stepped aside, giving a slight nod in response to his suggestion. Well, perhaps it was a suggestion, not that she could tell, but she was willing to do so. Not that she got a few steps in before Smug was doing the work herself, the queen simply standing near and watching with a pained expression as she pulled out the bullet and spat it into the water. Her ear would swivel and she'd give a glance over to Zod as he approached and greeted, then went to interrogate another member of their seemingly dwindling pack. Wow, so much activity going on right now. She wasn't sure what to focus on, but for now she could think of some good she could manage to do. She blinked a few times, as if constructing a mask on her features. C'mon, don't be sore about it. There were things to do and people to help, and she didn't need to be standing around all uncertain and pissy about everything. Zod barging in reminded her of that, snapped her out of it. Features calmed as she collected herself and calmed, focusing on what was going on right now. Namely, Smug bleeding like hell out of her shoulder. Measured steps would bring her to grasp one of the discarded birds laying about, ignoring her own hunger and laying it before the beat up woman. "Eat, and don't move now. Sorry if it hurts." Hey she wasn't going to lie! Should no one else move in to distract her from her mission, she would without pause lay herself down next to Smug and begin licking at the shoulder wound, hoping to help with the blood pooling out of that wound, and soon would move to her poor neck. No doubt it would hurt, but it had to be done! Meanwhile single ear swiveled to listen to nearby conversations, absent looks over in the others direction, though she was mostly focused on the raw skin.
Vadimir tilted his head, gazing at his son like >:/. Really, what was all this about? Big pouty face of absolutely nothing. No anger, joy, pleasure, sadness. Just blank space of naught. Hadn't they fixed this problem already, hadn't the worked around this hassle once before? With the aid of mushrooms, of course. But... come on! "Zat iz direct. Und vot makez you zink you've earned Sluzhit und not Rab?" His voice was neither challenging nor threatening, merely curious and dry. He'd glance over toward Smug, brow lifting as she sought to remove the bullet on her lonesome. Welp. He really shouldn't have expected anything different from her. Didn't mean he wasn't going to have a rage fest later. But that would be for an appropiate time. Namely, a time when everyone was together and everything could be handled one right after the other. Because as Zod was experiencing. Waiting around for everyone to be READY for their paddling. Was just a hope gap that clearly everyone was exploiting for their own benefit. Mind, he didn't feel that was the case exclusively with Yus and Smug. Both seemed to have been out on their own personal agenda. Yus his feelings, and Smug her... whatever in the fuck she had gone off to do. Just check that off as something else they needed to discuss, whoopee! "You both are up for demotion und punishment, zough lookink at you, I'd dare zay you've already had it." Like holy jesus woman could you have come back in a WORSE state? Yes, yes she probably could have. "But before I make any rash decisionz, I vant to hear each of your storiez. Vhy you decided upon zis courze of action, even zough it vaz clearly not in ze best interest of you, or your pack." HARD STARE AT SMUG. TALKIN TO YUOOOUUUYOUOUYTYUJHNGBBF. And Yus, he'd give that look too. But a more paternal sorta gaze. Like, 'you're in big trouble, mister!' though with his current phase of being, it was unlikely to have any affect on him. "Vhy don't ve vatch vot happenz here?" He'd offer to them hoping to return their attentions to Zod and Solv. Aye, let's see where this leads everyone. So grab some popcorn, dos-e-doe, and have a rip snortin' good time!
Yusef didn't really want to talk about his feelings. "I...didn't feel well." he stated, not quite certain how to put it all into words. HE DIDN'T KNOW! That was another issue of his--he didn't know HOW to voice these feelings, or show these feelings, or even properly name these feelings for what they were! He was still a child! He may have looked like an adult, but that meant nothing to his mental development. In many ways, he was far advanced than others his age, but in others, he was horrifically stunted. It wasn't that he didn't feel feelings, it was that he felt too many feelings and had no outlet for them besides violence, and sometimes, violence just wasn't the outlet he wanted or needed for them! Not that he actually knew how to put that into words. His attempt came out more along the lines of "..I..felt...bad...sometimez..But...god..ish? And...zen bad agin..and zen vorse because I felt bad..and zen even vorse for feeling vorse becauze of zee badness and zen ze happiness felt bad, too..." well, it was a valiant effort, right? It was probably as close as he was going to get to trying to explain how depression puts you in a rut. Even so, he didn't lower his head or drop his gaze--he was prepared to take whatever damage had to be doled out. He knew he had left without permission and propriety and didn't tell anybody. Nobody got away unscatched or unharmed from that. "..Sluzhit because I hav at least proven zat I have zee skill and ability to move beyond zee rank given to me. Sluzhit because I do need to be told vhere my place is. I need to practice more. I..am not..good enough."
Solveig's gaze had settled on Smug as the female worked to pull..something...from her shoulder. She winced inwardly at the pain the female must have been feeling and slid her gaze over to Yusef. That one, she was more familiar with. But, the female's attention was soon snapped to Zodiak as he strode before her and they were nose to nose. Her ears flattened, gaze hardening. "Patrolling, scouting..and when I'm not doing that I hunt." she said in a sharp, chilly tone. "I'm sorry if I'm not always seen just laying around like a fat fuck all the time, just so you can keep tabs on me. I stay busy." her tone quickly turned to sarcasm as her eyes narrowed and her hackles stiffened. For reals? Whatever was stuck up this guy's poopshoot, he needed to pull it out.
Zodiak. Hell hath no fury like a voin determined to prove himself. Zodi was pretty damn furious and after missing his chance to scratch that itch of his-- that nagging, restless, unproductive itch-- he was ready to take names. However first stop on his agenda was more rekindling of bond with missed packmate smug. Her response was given a half smirk and wag of his tail, "'cause nobody messes with vechnyy" he'd normally give her a nudge or bump but she looked pretty tore up. Girl u reked. So instead, if able, he'd give a quick lick to her nose. Hopefully that didn't hurt too. Now on to sol.... It wasn't that he hated this wolf or even disliked her in any way. He had a job to do, and if he played friends with everyone, then it'd never get done. This also wasn't to say he'd never befriend his packmates because that would be pretty ass backwards. He was guarded, thoughts already sent conflicted feelings about the day he would have to humiliate cortes... his amigo and rek his ass up in front of the pack. It wasn't something he'd really enjoy (well, maybe a little) but it was a job that had to be done. All of his actions, although fueled by an emotional tidal wave, was part of his job. Now nose to nose with this wolf whom he hadn't seen since their spar, zodi wanted answers. Where the hell was the pack? Vechnyy was falling apart and quite frankly they were a mess. Unorganized, ununified, emotional as fuck. snort. He valued his place in the pack, and if it fell apart... where would that leave him? No. He'd fight with everything he had to keep that from happening. Sol's initial statement seemed the usual hohum business that most of the packmembers were expected to do. It was a given, Piss on the borders, bring in food, watch out for danger. In the event of that danger, would she be ready? Her little golden shower may have gotten him, but that wouldn't be something she'd get away with. Some of the places he'd gotten ahold of with her... it made her vulnerable and if he had all intent to kill her, he could have. She would need to train, grow strong and become imortal. He wanted to help her, he wanted to help all of them. Build the army, make it strong. Thoughts lingered on this for a moment and the blaze in his eye simmered down--that is until she ran her bitchface mouth! Lip curled and jaw parted slightly, fire building within as if she just sprayed it with gassoline. OH FUCK THIS SHIT! You gonna learn today! He gave no time to think, no moment to prepare. In a matter of seconds after hearing her tones of disrespect he was on her like a fat kid on cake. Body lunged forward in a half reared posture, forearms aiming to clasp around her neck like vice grips. Neck was partially arched, jaws seeking that virgin ear (left). How was it this wolf had all her... appendages. Either she'd been Really good or was great at hiding because every wolf in the pack was missing SOMETHING by the end of their first month. It only made his job all the more appealing. If jaws found their mark, they'd clasp with a heavy snap, head and neck twisting side to side in violent thrashing. Jaws would shift to glide the ear back to sharper, shredding teeth where he'd chomp and thrash until the damned thing was severed from her skull. That is, if all went to plan.
Solveig's muscles had been tense, but regardless because of Zodiak's face-to-face closeness she would have no time to react before his forearms were tightened about her neck. His weight caused her front half to sag before she caught herself and tried to jerk back. But he had a tight hold and the moment she felt the searing pain of his teeth slicing into her ear heartbeats before it was taken completely from her skull. Her jaws parted in a squall of pain as, in a sudden rush of adrenaline, she slammed her hind paws into the dirt and shoved her weight back and to the side in an attempt to force herself out of his grip like a furious sex-driven buck whose antlers were locked in combat with a rival. Blood coursed down the side of her face, and a deep gutteral growl rippled forth. With lips curled, teeth flashed as she jerked her head to the side to try to snag her teeth into the skin and flesh of Zodi's neck as a forepaw tried to wedge itself between herself and Zodi to try to shove him off of her.
Zodiak felt the rush, the surge he'd been waiting for. Body was in motion and when teeth finally snagged that tender piece of flesh, euphoric rush was all that followed. As the blood floowed between thrashing fangs and the pained cries of the female echoed off his lobes, he could only growl in dark pleasurable way that very few could understand. Like the first drag off a morning cig. Releif washed clean his emotional slate, but oh no, he wasn't done yet. Growling huff escaped him as she pushed him back. Ear detached so when she pushed, he easily glided back and dropped to all fours. Head bobbed up and down like a show pony, waving the ear around before shaking it side to side as if it weren't already dead enough. Haha got your ear nana! -ahem- Body then froze, eye locked on her once again as jaws opened to let the damaged flesh drop to the dirt. Lip curled and he approached in a circling fashion, veering toward her right. He wanted more! Light sneeze and tongue flicking over his nose were the only actions paired with his closing of distance. If it were possible to align himself right without her charging, he'd lunge for her again in attempts to repeat the process on her other ear.
Solveig snorted and snarled as she managed to push Zodi back. She skipped in reverse a few steps, blood splattering the ground and marking her movements with bright red splats and smears in the dirt, and gathered herself for the split moment she had before Zodi rushed her again. Gah! Blood ran into her left eye, forcefully causing her to rapidly blink and close that eye. With depth perception off, her attempt to duck and slip out of the way was delayed and she snarled and jerked her head again as his teeth found her right ear. This time, though, it wasn't the entire ear but only half of the appendage. Without waiting to see what would happen next, Solveig would crouch, twist and yank her head away..another yelping squeal emitting from her jaws as half of her ear was left in Zodi's jaws. Fuck! She would whirl and lunge upward from her crouched position toward the male, her jaws aiming to grab ahold of the thin skin on his cheek while one foreleg would scoop out in an attempt to snag and tug on one of his legs in an attempt to stagger or knock him off balance. With each movement she made, crimson blood would fly..coating herself, the ground, and Zodiak. Balls to the wall, the rush of adrenaline that coursed her veins dulled the sensation of pain for the moment. The bitch sure would feel it in the morning, though.
Zodiak was on fire, his entire body pulsing with the desire for blood and violence. It'd been a while since he had a good fight and this was definately doing it. Her other ear found it's bed between jaws, and although not a perfect grip, it still tore away just the same--half of it anyway. This ear, however, was quickly abandoned as turned on him and was lunging for another attack. Mmm see I knew you liked it! Jaws parted, bared fangs welcoming her with open arms. Her fangs managed to find purchase where they had previously left a scar, and instead of waiting for her to 'have at it' he'd quickly push back into her in a half-rear, tearing his head off to one side against her grip. This would surely tear the flesh right from his face but that only served to further his rush. If he'd managed to pull not only his head in a sideways thrust, but her's as well, forelimb would add weight to her shoulder in an effort to flop her to the ground. This time however, if managed, he'd stand overtop of her huffing. A dark smile lingered on his features before he'd half chuckle and shake his head, "Bout fucking time!", his face was thoroughly coated in his own and her blood, chest heaving while pants brought him back to a more regulated state. If the girl had ceased her fighting as he did, he'd continue, "You start training, daily. Running, swimming, pushing, lifting-- you will be tested and if you fail..." gaze lingered over her "that pretty little tail of yours may be next" He'd remove himself from her with a shake, flinging blood this way and that before turning back to allow rump to plant firmly in the dirt.
Solveig was quickly dropped to the ground, the next thing she knew she was glaring up at Zodi whom stood triumphantly over her. Her chest heaved, head bleeding all over the place and soaking into her fur. GRAHH dirt in her severed flesh! That just made it better, yea. Technically sandpaper grating over fresh open wounds. Son of a fuck. But she did not wish to continue the fight. She'd had enough damage for now and already she felt a screaming headache pounding atop her head. Bright green eyes would narrow at Zodi as he spoke to her and a soft snort would escape her nostrils, displacing some dust before her. "I've heard that before." she muttered before slowly pushing herself into an upright laying position and wincing. A few deep breaths would be given before she sat up completely, eyes squinted in displeasure from the pain. Her head hung to give her a slumping posture, for even using her neck muscles pulled at the skin, muscle and tendon that led to the top of her head..causing more ouch. Soft growls would come from Solveig's chest, her paws shifting to make her stand. She would move past Zodiak, her face set in a hard mask, and would head for the river to rinse away the debris and blood that was beginning to dry to her fur..causing the strands to stick together and mat down. If a tongue so much as touched the place where her ears had been, she couldn't promise not to rip it out of the mouth that delivered it. So far she was annoyed. Her time spent here had given her plenty of scars, which was the challenge she'd sought, but at the same time she had grown close to nobody. From what she saw, each individual here had someone whose company they favored. Someone they enjoyed being around, someone to talk to and to bond with. For her time here, and for being in a pack, she was still basically alone. The bitch had begun to feel more like a punching bag than a packmate that was neither needed nor wanted.
Zodiak's head tilted some at her remark. "hmm. then i wont need to tell you again" he smirked, expression fading as she pushed past him. Ear twisted back and slowly he'd trail after her, stepping with cautiounary distance between her and himself. Face dipped into the water, the stinging pain forcing lip to curl beneath its surface. Damn that hurt! Gaze would shift to the female and he'd sigh, nudging her if able. "Know that what I do...Its what must be done..." he sighed "Our pack is fading... we need you to be strong... understand?" He'd turn to head back to the den, pausing mid-step offering a grin towards her, "It suits you by the way... Now we're even." quite litterally at that. Might as well call them twinkies. and with that he'd head back toward the den to curl up and bleed all over himself.
