THE RAB AND THE MISSING SLUZHIT
Vadimir watched the fight between Yus and Vaska. A good match! Each gave as good as the other got. He'd nodded off somewhere during the competition, all that emotions and drama from earlier having completely exhausted all such heartfelt shizz. What did he have left? A muscle ache, a muscle ache located squarely in his chest. He wasn't used to this sensation, didn't know what to make of it. Except... as with everything else. Let it run its course, and allow himself to try and make sense of it. Likely fail miserably, but he'd do his best. He owed himself that much! When eyes opened once more, it was already afternoon. DAMN! How long had he been out? Rising to his paws he shook out his coat, dismayed by how uncomfortable he felt. Not in a physical sense. It felt like something was nagging at him, making it difficult to breath. It felt like... like. Like he had something he wanted to talk about but if it was truly what he had an inkling it was. He wasn't all too sure he was going to like it. Not at all. But what choices did he have? Either discard it and let it fester, or... deal with it like a man. Realistically the first option wasn't even an option at all. Drak was still not feeling his groove yet, and Vad had to take up shit so Drak didn't feel so overwhelmed and could actually have an opportunity to get his game together and back in order. So... fluffster would sigh and turn, his aim toward the outcrop of rock beside the den. Looks like it was time. Time to pay Hadlee a visit.
Zodiak had been patrolling the borders searching for anything interesting; Stray wolf, food, more sex. But no the gods of chance were against him as he wandered about the territory for what seemed like all night. He did have the opportunity to meet newest member Sol, but wondered how dedicated she'd really be to the pack. hrmm... Pelt would shake out as he headed back toward the den site. He was set on meeting the others, Every last one of them. He wouldn't make the mistake of not recognizing his pack again. Head was level with shoulders swaying with his step as he slowly trudged into the clearing. Vad was the first that eyes gazed upon and he'd pause. He wasn't sure how to approach him and wondered if he was still butthurt (keke) about things. Legs finally shifted into gear to carry him to the tsar as tail swished at his flanks like always. He'd scoot up close to him, rear squatting to the ground as jaws parted to grab a hold of his bottom jaw. omnomnom before frame would push up, rising onto hind legs as paws hugged around his neck while more noms and licks were given to his face and ears (absent objection of course).
Hadlee remained on the side of the den after her talk with her sister. This was her life now. This pack. There was no escaping. In truth, there was no want to. After seeing the pain that she had gifted her sister with, she knew that she had to make it up. So, as the afternoon dragged on and she was gifted more time to rest and recover from her concussion, the woman moved from the side of the den to the courtyard. Even as her wound began to scab over, she was growing better by the day. No matter, more would surely come and coat her features with the pattern of scars. It was only a matter of time before she would be forced into something far worse than she had ever before. It didn't matter. Hadlee was sure that change would come. If survival was wanted, change would have to come. So, as Vadimir allowed his sigh to fall onto her ears, she found her footing. Steps were taken all to easily into the courtyard where she stood tall for the brother that she had let down all those months ago. A bow of the head came all too easily as those dulled brown eyes stared up to him. It didn't take long from Zodiak to appear. Well, the more the merrier right? Now what would come of this situation? Surely something not too great.
Ghastly found herself waking in darkness. Again. She had been sleeping quite a bit very recently, and had created a comfortable little cubby nest at the furthest, quietest corner of Vechnyy's cavernous den. Her head rose as if it weighed a thousand tonnes. Ironic considering how gaunt her features were. Ghastly always looked waif and sickly in the summer months. Summer just didn't agree with her. She was a true winter queen. Tongue, sticky and lacking of most moisture, was pushed from its own cavern and lid across her lips lazily. These days she also slept like a rock. No dreams, no twitches; just darkness. Blinking now, it seemed overly effort as she pushed herself up into a stand. Shaking her pallid coat out, she headed towards the light. Emerging into the oven, Ghastly flinched at the sun's grace and hesitated. The coolness of the den was ever so lovely... but the white woman couldn't hide in there until Winter came once more. With a heaving sigh, Ghastly forced herself forwards and out into the open. She needed a drink. Following the curve of the den's side, she moved in a low-laying posture but with purpose. As if blind to any others currently present, she would take a quick visit to the river, before returning having wet her lips. It was then that she noticed one of her Tsar's, Vadimir, and a fellow she'd seen around before but his name slipped her mind. Like everything else... She slunk to a side and tucked herself up beneath the shadow of the den's looming head, acknowledging any with a low, respectful nod and an averted gaze if they were to even take notice and the time to address her existence.
Smug had been pacing at the water's edge most of the morning. She had done her nightly border check which carried well into the morning. She just couldn't seem to shake the lasting feelings of anxiety and confusion at what had happened the other day. She hated confronting her emotions. Trying to comb through them and dissect them was an arduous task since they were so mingled together and had been subdued for so long. A sneeze claimed her face and the earthen woman shook her head once more with a low growl. Damn Crony. At least she had secured his tail in the process, allowing her to present it to the Tsar. She had been given very little time to celebrate as Crony had decided to make her FEEL FEELS. The nerve... Attention was pulled back out of the depths of her tumultuous mind when a Vechnyy member appeared further down the bank for a drink. Smug paused in her steps to raise nose to wind and catch her scent. This was one she had yet to actually meet, though there seemed to be many that she had yet to encounter. Sigh. It was her own fault for being so reclusive and avoiding the courtyard and den the majority of time. When the female turned and headed back to the heart of Vechnyy, Smug hesitated only a moment before deciding to follow her back. Maybe she could lose Crony from her mind by the company of others since avoiding everyone seemed to not be doing the trick. She paused on the edge of the courtyard, gaze travelling over those present. One of the Tsars, though she'd never spoken to him, and Zodi were the only ones present that the quiet woman recognized. Glancing around, relief touched her tense muscles as Crony was not among those gathered. She stepped further in, letting presence be known, but kept to the edge in order not to disturb any proceedings that were occurring. There she stood, olive gaze raking over those present before resting on the Tsar.
Vadimir paused to see that Hadlee was approaching him. Well, he hadn't expected such.. forwardness. But it was met with even eyes, and a slight bob of the head. Took guts to do what she did, and be in the knowledge that her life hung in the balance. And still waltz up like wat up yo. Did that make him forget her crime? No. But he could acknowledge pros while harshing the cons. He was a versatile woofy like that. "Vere you informed of your sentence?" So much had happened yesterday, he didn't have a clue if she had been around to hear any of it, or perhaps had been informed by someone else. Vad's attentive gaze would be switched 'round when he felt Zod come up against him. At first Vad jumped with a high pitched growl like WHOAFUCKWHAT. Only to calm and stare hard at the male like wut you doin bro. Soon enough his bottom jaw was taken hold of, he was pulled into a hug. And his first thoughts were DAMNIT I'm trying to be cool here and you're making me look like a DWEEB. Vadimir's facial articulation resolved into that of 'fuckit' and opened his mouth to it's fullest, playfully trying to snatch up that torn ear and give it a rough tug while forelimb raised to noogie Zod in the faise. What else was there for him to do? This was his lot in life now. The more he tried to fight it, the more he'd be sucked down the well. If he was able Vadimir would hook his arm around Zod's neck, teeth aiming for his scruff. If he got it he'd give a couple shakes, kneading teeth into his flesh, before releasing to offer both occupants of his attention speech. "I've still not located Nida. You are avare, zat if she iz..." He'd give a terse raise of brow. YOU KNO WHAT I'M TALKIN' BOOT. "Zen anymore strangerz are not allowed onto zeh territory. Not until ve figure vot to do..." Basically. If she was preggers, can't be having people ambling up wanting to join and shit with babies on the way. Did that mean he was going to let them live? Not necessarily. But... he was giving him a chance. If Zod was going to knock up a woman, then he was going to take full responsibility. "I don't care vot zeir reazonink iz. Zey stranger, you chaze zem off. Zis iz your primary duty now, do you understand?" It sorta always was. Everyone in Vechnyy was expected to protect their home. But leniency were allowed to those who showed merit. But if Zod wanted to have even the slightest hope of keeping his babies, that meant they could not afford to feed any extra mouths. So leniency couldn't be tolerated anymore. Ghast's appearance dragged on Vad like a weighted stone, but he couldn't fathom how to address her. She'd been keeping to herself so much that it was difficult to... figure out what to say. Beyond YO GO MAKE YOURSELF USEFUL. But before he could make such a command, Smug wandered in not long after the ghostly woman, and the Tsar would inwardly sigh. So much for having a heart-to-heart with Hadlee. Vadimir might have been embracing his newfound touchy-feely side with a bit more prowess than before. But he was by no means prepared to gush and spew feels while there were spectators about. That was a straight up NOPE. "Und you're....?" He knew her face, he swore he did. But what... what was her name? Had she ever given it? TOO MANY FACES GAWDDAMN.
Hadlee looked up to the man with the strength that she didn't have before. She knew it all too well. She knew what she had to do to survive and if it meant being in this violent group, she would do so. So, she remained there until the man spoke out to her. "No. I haven't. I've only spoken to Cin since that night." The night that she was knocked the fuck out by Vadimir. Well, speaking like this was a good start wasn't it. Zod took his attention and for that, Hadlee was rather grateful. Tension fell from her shoulders until another appeared behind her. Her body turned all too easily toward the strange woman. Her tension grew all too easily as she allowed her gaze to hover over her. Pity along with determination still sat there. A bow of her head came to this one as well before she spoke out. "Another one of their numbers?" Her words questioned out as the Tsar's did. If she was going to fix herself in his eyes, being silent was not something that she was going to do.
Zodiak was thrilled when vad returned playful affections, feeling tooth tug on his ear before paws were wrapped around his neck as vadi grabbed his scruff. Body would lower in response, still submissive to the tsar even if he'd had his way with him. Zod would never hold it against him, he saw it as a mere... Disagreement between the big boss that was delightfully settled. Strangely the thought didn't bother zodi as it had when vad got a hold of him months past. Maturity sure had a way of twisting innocent boy into deranged man. When all the fun was done it was nida's name that snapped him to attention. She'd gone missing? since when?! Tension crept up his features, lip twitching ever so slightly. Had she run off? did something happen to her? Surrounding scenery would be graced with a quick glance; worrisome. He shifted gaze back to vad, all seriousness taken upon his features, "I have no problem with that...I actually patrolled last night" mothers go through nesting daddies go through guarding, what could he say??? Gaze would shift to hadlee for a moment, studying her. He wondered what sort of sentence the tsari sibling had gotten. She'd been gone for so long its a miracle she even found them. Distraction in the form of smug pulled attentions away, tail swayed smoothly and a nudge would be given to vad. She's cool man don't stress. Legs kicked into gear and led him to her, nose taking in any new information since their last encounter before a few licks were plastered against her muzzle. Hey there, long time no see!
Smug seemed to have walked in on some important proceedings. Soon all eyes fell on her and eyes narrowed for a second, hesitating. Why did she come over here again? The whole being in the spotlight was weird... hell they all were weird. If she had ears they would be flicked back, but alas she had none. Not even a tail. It was all in the faise bby. Cool gaze fell on Zodi once more as he came to greet her. Paws brought her closer and she gripped his jaw in the traditional greeting after he administered his licks. Her lame hind leg had pretty much fully healed and her shoulder was full on scabbed once more. At least they had stopped splitting and painting her chest and leg with crimson. Once she let go, eyes would turn to the other two staring at her. Lip curled up to reveal an incisor as she regarded them, almost in a smile. "Smug." Short and simple. That was the way she liked it. No need to draw anything out. It was nice to finally be in contact with others from the pack besides Zod, Mon, and Nida. She waited a moment, once again realizing that she had blatantly walked in on something that she wasn't a part of as gaze flicked between the two. "Would you like me to leave?" Her voice was steady, neutral. She didn't mind either way. No one liked to be a bother.
Vadimir's nubby tail rose as he regarded Smug. She was immensely attractive! All those scars, missing body parts. So lovely. He'd nod in approval, further encouraged by Zod's prod. Which, though he was busy enjoying the view, he had to think about the present. And the present was all business. "Did you find anyzink?" He'd ask the Soldat. Given his expression Vad was pretty sure he hadn't found Nida. The worry and anxiety that rose from zod waxed strong over Vad's own emotions, heightening them to levels he wasn't at all comfortable with. "You zaid she vaz afraid. If she iz... she might be tryink to stay avay." Was... was he trying to console Zod? Or just figure a reason as to her absence? HE DIDN'T FUCKING KNOW ANYMORE. When he moved to greet Smug Vad would finally give a response to the woman, "Vadimir." While those two were engaged Vad looked toward Hadlee, his feelings still erratic and foreign. Frighteningly so. "You have been cast to Rab, slave. You are ze lowest of our order, und you vill be treated az zuch until you prove yourzelf above all elze. If you leave again," He'd pause, wherein his eyes grew flinty and his voice turned to a harsh gravel as he leaned in close, "If you abandon your zister again. Ve vill find you, und Cinnema vill end you. Do you understand?" For Vadimir would have been all too happy to explain in further detail. Further physical detail if necessary. He still wanted to tear her to pieces, peel her skin off and make her eat it. And perhaps he still would. But before he acted on impulse, as he often did with so many things. He'd wait it out. For now, he'd wait it out. Smug's question was made when Vad's mind was heavy with gory splintered bones and gouged eye-sockets, so naturally it took him a moment to respond. "Hm, wha--? No, vhy vould you need to leave??" In fact considering one of their number was missing, one who he planned to give a firm ass whoopin' to could easily use her help. "Nida iz mizzink, und bezides needink to anzwer for her actionz...." Dare he say it.... "Ve need to azzure her zafe return." PUKE HURL BLAURGHUHTRKEF. He shook himself, looking at Smug pointedly. "Do you know anyzink of trackink? I already spoke to Ammir, zo he iz avare of ze situation. But I do not zink zis haz become publicly known to all of Vechnyy." At least, not by Zod's reaction. If HE didn't know where she was, then it was time to get srs.
Zodiak's head would shake for a moment, no nothing....wait! He'd pause and shift gaze upwards "There was...Sol..." he couldn't remember the other part to her name. Good enough. "I'd never seen her but she claimed -you- initiated her" He had to ask to double check information. Can't have stray wolves playing impostor on their territory in the wee hours. He was almost certain nida was pregnant. He could feel it in his--well nevermind that. It was strange how he'd grown so overprotective since hooking with her. It made him wonder about how much he actually wanted pups. There were pros and cons to the situation, so many could mean endless training and hunting, but the end result was worth it, drak and vadi's pups were living proof. If he had but one or two...perfect numbers not too much but just enough to pass on some kind of legacy. Smug's words caused sharp jerk of attention, head tilting. Who said anything about leaving??? He'd take a step back, turning toward vad as he spoke. Head lowered and mangled ear twisted back. Where was nida? Gaze drifted to smug, filled with desperation. He NEEDED her to find nida. Small whine would be given with wag of his tail before he'd turn to shift over by vad, planting rear in the dirt beside him.
Smug's attention was on Vad when he looked her over. His posture shifted slightly and his expression was one of... approval? Interesting. She was slightly taken aback by it and nose wrinkled slightly, sliding lip back to reveal more ivories in a mix between a smile and a 'dafuq you looking at' expression. She wasn't sure what to think about that so she just pushed it away like she did with everything else. Vad also seemed to shrug it off, turning back to Zod with a serious look. What were they looking for? Her lip returned back to normal and her own serious face turned to the tawny male, piqued by curiosity. Attention would then be snapped to Vad and the other woman. Their first Rab huh? That couldn't be good. She wondered what this woman could have done to deserve such. Man, she must have missed a lot while hiding out from Crony and generally everyone while she had been sorting through her 'feelings'. Vad's voice as he threatened the woman sent shivers up Smug's spine. It was a mix between awe and...lust? FUQ THAT. She shook her head to clear such thoughts when he turned to her. She hoped he hadn't seen the look of desire that had passed through her momentarily. She hated herself for letting emotion grip her like that. The Tsar looked almost unwilling to finish his sentence.... Maybe it wasn't Zodi that had done something, but her? Confused look passed her face next but it was gone in an instant as he posed his question. "Aye, I am able to track." Glance passed between the two males, but it wasn't her place to ask questions. Zod's posture and whine caught her attention and head turned to follow his movements. Maybe she would ask. "Trouble?" She was a woman of few words since actions spoke volumes on their own. In that one word question she asked ALL the questions, whether they picked up on it or not. At least she was guaranteed some sort of answer to at least one of her questions.
Monro had been drained the loss of blood from most recently permanent of scars and thus so spent most days resting while limbs got used to their 'sea legs'. The lack of a tail made for a mild hindrance and often left woman both annoyed and frustrated, harks often heard the chaos of the whatever days events where happening just outside; leaving her yearning for her comrades company. A heavy sigh escaped her and slight wobble was given stumbling over pads before dragging them upwards warily, determined scowl fitted across features as woman staggered forward sliding against the den's mouth for support. Eyes narrowed as moonlight guided her stumbling drunk flip flop of pads, lead her out into the open, audits rounding towards familiar voices ushering her along closer letting out a chuff as they came into view "Good eve.."
Vadimir noticed only faintly Smug's... reaction, if that was indeed what it was. Her quirky smile shifting to... whatever that was. Caused Tsar to blink momentarily, but let it drop without opening contesting. Had he seen what he'd thought he did? Was he too caught up in the drama that his mind was playing tricks? All likely scenarios. So.. for the time being. Best to leave dat lion to its nap. He could always disturb it later, after all. "Gud." He'd remark to her assertion. The more able the better. Mon's appearance was sudden, but Vadimir watched her with shrewd eyes. His last meeting with her had been embarrassing, to say the least, and looking at her only reminded him of the situation all the more. "Perfect timink." Striding forward he'd sniff at her, affirming just what she'd been up to. Hard to detail, so many aroma's mingled together to form her body essence. But oh well. "Nida, von of our own. Iz likely to be burdened vith children. She mated vithout permission durink her...." The fuck did you call that... "Welpink period." NAILED IT. "Und hazn't been zeen zince. Ve need to locate her und bring her back, both to enact her punishment, az vell az enzuring her zafety." That still left a weird after-taste in his mouth. Zod seemed to have already left to continue searching, leaving Vadimir fumbling for further information. Solv... Solv... what dafuq was a Solv. Then it hit him. "Oh," He'd say shortly, before dismissing the whole thing. He'd deal with that woman later. Technically she was Yusef's priority now. "I can only look but zo often, for ze duties zat bind me here. I need az many able-bodied caninez to help in ze zearch."
Smug averted her gaze as she saw Vad looking at her a little too closely. Well fuq... Why'd she have to go and do that. Woman suppressed a sigh and then all attention was turned toward Monro's appearance. Man, she looked like hell. She followed the Tsar to greet the injured woman though she waited until he sniffed her over before approaching the two. Fur brushed up against Vad's side as she passed him and came to plant a lick to Mon's cheek. She obviously ignored that pang that ran through her once more. Stupid...effing... "What happened to you?" She asked her question while nose ran down her neck and side, investigating but not applying pressure. The woman looked like she was healing from one intense fight. Wow, was Smug ever out of the loop. Vad's words brought her attention back to him and she pulled away from Mon for olive eyes to fall upon him once more. Nose wrinkled up in disgust when he said she had mated. Now she understood his reluctance. Mind drifted to Zod first. That explained why he was acting weird, must have been him. Then her thoughts went to Cron... Lip curled further as her agitation towards him was reawakened. THEN her mind went to her own lost pups. Her brain flicked through all of these like it was browsing through songs on a jukebox, pausing here and there to sample it before moving on to the next. All of them evoked major emotions within her, so her face naturally went blank as she looked away from the two. No way would she let them see the panic that welled within her as memory after memory of her old life and the tragic tale of her breeding played like a broken record. "I am able," she said, voice pretty much devoid of emotion to match her face. They had reached a swelling point where they overloaded her thoughts and like a computer, was reset to factory settings. It was good that she had ended that way instead of consumed with the swirling whirlpool of a hallucination, sucking her down to the depths and pushing her to breaking point in front of the others. She felt oddly bereft of life after such motions, even though in reality it had only been a few moments versus the long expanse of time it had appeared to her.
Monro arched a brow as Vad spoke on her approach being perfect audits rounding as he spoke "Is that so" woman mused tilting her crown sideways allowing soft scowl to slip across maw "How deplorable, I suppose we don't have many leads?" Shifting cardinal gaze towards Smug granting her a coy smile nub wiggling so hard it made hips shift in place (think potty dance), though when Vad continued his speech woman again found herself transfixed with his command "What would one do if she is found, try to bring her home alone perhaps we should split into groups; to have a better chance of capturing her? Either way you can count me in." A hearty chuckle was given as Mug's question filtered across her drums head giving a tilt "Aren't they fitting" she said sarcastically stifling the low grumble of pleasure that slipped across chest when lick was given. Rough nibbles where planted from chin to cheek before running own tongue across the woman's crown "My initiation was quite brutal, all scars eventually heal." Glint of pride struck match inside those ruby eyes as coy grin was cast towards Vad raising brow slightly "Wouldn't you agree Vadimir" brows wiggling atop crown.
Ammir was watching them, but not really paying attention to what they were saying or doing really. It was more his head was pointed in that direction and he was day dreaming. After a little while though he noticed how few people were still up. Oh, only three! Maybe.. maybe I can get in this. Then he'd pause with his own thoughts. "The fuck." he whispered to himself. He'd never had a thought like that before! Head would Roll back as soft buzzing came close to his ears, and lips curled back before he snapped at the air. Only to get air, There wasn't a bug he was just hearing things! Male hadn't realized that he was actually snapping at nothing. He thought there truly was a bug buzzing in his ears. Yet it was suddenly gone. Resulting in Amir to resume his watchin'. He didn't care if he was heard or seen, for he would do that often through the day though he tended to be quieter. This time when he looked to the group he'd actually listen to what they were saying. His hearing was impeccable, thanks to not being able to smell shit. And it was almost a literal term. He could barely smell even shit. Ears having only caught the last bites of the conversation. Which intrigued him quite a bit, in fact enough to make him come down from the top of the den. Once joining the group he would tilt his head to the side curiously. No words being spoken though his presence was obvious.
Vadimir blinked at Mug. Unusual reaction... Vad thought to approach, but what would he actually do? He had no idea what was wrong in the first place. Just something else for him to talk to them about at a later date, WHOOPY!!! "Zen no reazon to waste anymore time." Her brushing against him was met with a raised brow. What was with all this tension in the air... emotional tension, sexual tension. Just all the fucking tension. Mon's words had him nodding.Perfect, couldn't have said it better. "Ve vill split into groupz of two or three, zat vay ve cover ze most area." Vadimir would jerk his chin toward them in turn. "Pick ze leader out amongzt yourzelvez. Whomever findz her iz NOT to harm her. You brink her directly to myzelf, Drak, or Cinn." Whatever the three of them decided was proper punishment... that'd come later. Turning he'd see Ammir derping out in the corner.... dafuq. "Ammir! Are you still vantink to help?" He'd ask, quickly, already beginning to move. "If zo, zen come. Ve have a lot of ground to cover tonight."
Smug barely noticed the appearance of yet another new member while stuck in her despondent state. She was lost to her own thoughts before Vad started to move. It was like she had been underwater with everything all fuzzy and then all of the sudden her ears popped and everything was in focus again. Head swung around the the face she did not recognize for a moment before switching back to Vad. Head dipped at the Tsar's command and she moved to face the small group as well. "I'll follow the Tsar for now, so I guess you two can search together? Either that or find other willing hands within the pack to pair up with." She wasn't really commanding them or claiming to be the leader and frankly the scarred woman didn't care much if they listened. She needed time to think and she would have gone with Monro, but tbh, her cycle was starting to make her head swim and memories to surface. She couldn't deal with anything like that at the moment. Smug also wasn't sure about travelling with the unknown male, even if he was a part of Vechnyy. The last stranger she had encountered within the pack had been Crony and well, she did NOT want to go there again at the moment. They had to focus on finding Nida, their primary task and utmost priority in the pack currently. Body moved to carry her past Monro, offering a parting lick and a quick look of confused interest before dropping into a lope to follow after the retreating Tsar.
