Delusional
(12:39:47) Monro awoke feeling the ache of sleep vibrating over her limbs, causing a light groan of displeasure to escape lips; ruby orbs slit open and rolled over the slumbering forms in the courtyard. She felt remorse for her wounded comrades and a bit of anger for not being there to help them, lady pushed herself up and toward the slumbering bodies allowing ruby orbs to roll over their scarred features. Low whine escaped the lass as nose moved to the ground sniffing about, being able bodied allowed her to make sure no other problems would arise.
(13:16:01) Cinnema had slept fine through the night actually, after two days of wallowing in nightmares and the horror of being helpless. Nope, still sprawled out where she'd dropped in almost the exact position, front paws clinging to the meat she'd been offered which was pressed to her chest. Mote likely still slept on her ass, providing her some comfort in the nearness of pack. But she couldn't lay there all day, hell naw. Didn't help that someone decided to start poking around while whining, reaching the queen's ears and waking her up. But for a second she didn't move, a low growl uttering from her throat before eyes flicked open and landed upon the cream fae. Oh, hey there. The noise would die and she'd groan instead, choosing to shift position finally. A shoulder pushed under her so that her front half was elevated and she could look around properly while lower legs remained upon the ground so as to not put any pressure on her wounds there. Ouuchh she was so sore. But she was taking every little precaution to not open that up again so she didn't bleed out. It would heal faster that way. Ears flicked forward as she focused on Mon again while nose lowered to sniff at the food between her paws. "Sorry," she commented, before stomach grumbled. Holy hell she was starving. Forget conversation, she went right in on Mote's trout that had been brought for her.
(13:31:49) Smug awoke from her endless darkness with a start. Ouch. Head swung to glance over her wounded side and hip. The gouges were crusted over and in poor condition with new and old blood, dirt, bear blood, and who knows what else clinging to her matted fur. She looked like a wreck. Sigh. At least she had managed to clean the others' wounds before they had a chance for infection. Stretching further, nose poked at the marring and was pleased to find that no smell of disease was present nor did there seem to be any outward signs of it. With a relieved sigh she rested head back on the ground and closed olive eyes once more. Whines from the courtyard brought attention back to the waking world once more. It was quite an effort but the woman managed to get stiff limbs under her frame and heave herself up to a sit. Man, she ached all over. It was like she had been hit by a freight train. She probably overexerted herself by dragging everyone back but hell, someone had to do it. A groan left lips as she coaxed hind legs into a stand and attempted to shake out her nasty fur. Not much came loose since it was plastered there by the adhesive blood but it had been worth a shot. Tired paws brought her aching frame out of the den and into the sunlight. Eyes blinked to adjust and she was pleased to see that Cinn, Vad, and Zodi had been well enough to move out here. Not well enough to clean her it seemed, she thought with a pout. It didn't really matter though since she understood and moved on with her life. No pity parties here. Dip of the head was given in greeting to Mon and Cinn as she approached the gals.
(13:34:10) Zodiak was dreaming again. No this wouldn't end well. Frame stalked through the darkened world until the shadowy figure was spotted. How was he still alive, he was sure they'd killed him. Snarl ripped through him, surley audible outside his dream state while lips curled and body thrashed about, going through the motions of combat with the bear. All continued until the fateful moment when the beast collapsed upon his frame arrived. He was trapped and burning up beneath its blubbery frame. Wild bark jolted him to life, frame flinging itself up from lax position. Vision still saw the bear, even though it was all part of his nightmare. He jolted to all fours, body wavering weakly as he was only half awake, lips peeld and low growl rumbling in his chest. He remained there for a moment before vision faded and light peirced through his darkened world. Zod stood there swaying; unsteady. His mind warped with confusion before chest spasmed and hacking cough expelled itself that triggered a whine to trail after. There was a metalic taste in his mouth--blood-- and his body was hotter than hot. Wavering like a skinny tree in the wind he'd topple to the side, fumbling to keep on all fours before rear legs gave and dropped him into a sit. gaze spacing out before head twisted to see who all was present.
(13:55:31) Vadimir had slept for how long? He had no clue. All he did know was that when Vechnyy came to life, it didn't pander to anyone's slumbering dreams. Whines, barks, snarls, groans. The din was enough to drive any SANE individual bonkers. So, one could only imagine the affect it carried on one loony Tsar. "KAKOGO CHERTA?! ETOT SHUM!" He bellowed out, raising into a sit purely out of instinct. It would only be then that h realized where he was, what role he played, and who he was with. Blazing eyes chilled, and bared fangs sheathed as muscled relaxed and a fresh wave of pain enveloped him as a stern reminder for his hasty actions. Tut tut Vadimir. That sort of language isn't good for your health! ".... Iz everyvon alright?" He was disoriented, clearly. They had all ascertained that they had all survived the attack, and everything would be alright, provided they all got their needed rest. But then, what was that scent that was sending Vad's nerves on overdrive? attention went to Zod, and immediately Vadimir felt the blood drain from his face. With terrible slowness he dragged battered rear end off the ground, pulling himself toward... well, dangit. HIS COMPANION, sniffing him over. He hadn't been coughing up blood before... why now? Had it worsened? But he'd been laying still! "Zod, can you hear me?" They needed to get him to the water. The heat rolling off of him was notable even from inches away. "Mon, Smug. I need your help. He needz to get into ze vater, now." It almost pained him as much as his actual injuries to admit to his weakness to openly... but now wasn't about pride.
(14:03:39) Monro shifted her attention towards Cin granting the woman a toothy grin slipped across features taking a step toward her "What's there to apologize for?" Lady moved closer tilting head from side to side moving attention towards the den as Smug exited a light murr rumbled across chest "Evening lovely" she said moving towards her gracing the woman's side. Pressing against her as if aiding the woman a gentle lick was given to her nose "Glad to see you out and about" orbs rolled to the now twitching coughing Zod. However When Vadimir made his presence known woman granted the King a nod parting from Smug's side "She's done enough I'll handle it" words flowed with ease as orbs rolled back to the earthen fae "Unless you think you can handle it darling?"
(14:22:12) Cinnema gave a slight forced shrug as Mon inquired what there was to be sorry about. Oh, well, probably for reacting like she had out of sheer habit. If she'd been in a better state she probably would've really lashed out, but given that she wasn't. Whatever, it happens. For now her focus was entirely on the fishy carcass in front of her, flashing jaws pulling meat away from the scales and bones. GOD SHE WAS STARVING. Absolutely everything was pushed out of her mind as she half chewed, half swallowed the whole thing down. The feeling of it sliding down into her stomach was fabulous, and not quite enough food for her. But she'd eat the fawn later, no need to get sick. Ears flicked and head snapped around to hear Zodiak almost having a fit over there, while she kept track of others moving with another ear focused elsewhere. Good god what was wrong with him? The fact that Vad was concerned made her that much more concerned. "Zodi?" she'd call hesitantly, and with careful movements try to stand. One leg at a time, not too quick, avoiding pulling anything on her stomach. She'd throw a fit if it got opened up again. It took her a few moments of agonizing slow movements, protesting of her sore limbs, and pangs of pain. Damn that bear. But she got there, taking a few steps toward the two males but keeping distance. She was concerned and wished desperately to help but, obviously, she was in no condition to do so..
(14:40:40) Smug blinked at Monro as she came to greet her with pet names. How odd. Nip to the cheek was offered in reply to the lick when Zodi drew their attention. Troubled gaze went to his hacking frame before switching to Vad. "I'm fine," she replied to Mon's annoying worry. Of course she was fine. The others had taken much worse beatings and she had no desire to be worried or fawned over. Although her limbs were stiff, they eased into it while she walked. Besides the wide gashes on her rump she was just sore from hauling their asses to safety... and holding up that massive mountain of flesh and fur to save the Tsar. Oh what would they do without her? Nah, they'd be fine without her she was sure. Approaching the two males, angered eyes first went to Vad. "Oh lie down before you hurt yourself even more," she growled at him with a warning nip to the maw. "You too," she proceeded to call over her shoulder at Cinn. Can't have the leaders crumbling further. Seriously... the Tsar looked like he was about to pass out. One more hard look before the woman lowered nose to nudge the tawny male's cheek in reassurance. "This is going to hurt but we need to do this ok?" Her voice was softer now, preparing him for the pain. BUT she wasn't one to baby others as we all know and soon teeth clamped around scruff to pull the male up before pressing side to his to hold him there. "Mon, help me get him on my back. It will hurt him less than if we dragged him. I don't want to risk opening the wounds further." Ok, maybe she could baby a little bit, but the guy deserved it. If Mon obliged, she would heft the male across her back and slowly make her way to the pond through heavy breathing and a stubbornly determined attitude.
(14:50:33) Monro quirked a brow at Smug pulling harks back when her tone suggested annoyance, she whined lowly cursing at herself for being so leechy. Though at her request lady simply obliged with a mild nod heaving limbs and head downward nosing under the brute's heavy frame, pushing upwards with a her own heavy grunt woman heaved the beast onto the others back. Standing to the side of in mid step ready to catch his weight if it slipped, orbs rolled back towards Vadimir and Cin granting them stotic looks and a snort "She's right stay and rest here.." peering back to Zod faking a smile "We'll have him ship shape in no time..." With that woman returned to Smug's side allowing a hushed apology to usher from lips.
(15:11:09) Zodiak half comprehended the world around him, fever having his mind clouded and judgement failing. He shook his head to clear blurred vision, turning attention only when the presence of another was felt. The words were registered but vaguely understood, what was wrong?! why couldn't he focus?! Head twisted to take in whoever was next to him, eyes dull and glazed over. He blinked seeing the blurred white cloud and taking in scents that registered familiarity with him. Then fever spiked and lucid nightmares forced the image of the bear on him again, lips curled and he snarled toward the beast (vad), the sound cutting abruptly as another hacking cough escaped him. Muzzle dipped and tongue flicked between teeth, tasting the blood, before jaws laxed and panting started. More voices construed as the desparate calls of battle, howls and snarls as the pack joined him in the fight against the bear. There were fangs against his scruff and he snarled, straining in the grasp before something pushed from beneath him. Pain shot through him from injured rib and a yelp echoed out as body was hoisted over smug. Once atop the female, legs straddling either side of her, he snarled. Finally he had the bear right where he wanted. Another heavy growl escaped him as he lunged to grab ahold of her scruff, clamping down on the mighty bear. DIEEEEE!!
(15:20:31) Vadimir wasn't sure what to react to more; Zod snapping at him, which caused him to recoil with upraised lips and eyes wide with surprise, to Smug's maternal stern words, which made him utter a stony growl like bitch make me. To finally Zod getting hoisted onto the scarred woman's back, and the havoc that quickly ensued hence. Vad couldn't move swiftly if he wanted to. AND HE DID. But his body would not comply, and trying to force it could have far too many repercussions. So, lost for any other choice, Tsar would give out a barking growl. "Zodiak! Quit actink ze fool!" Vad could tell what was going on, but hell if he knew how to bring him out of it, other than getting his temperature down ASAP. He dragged himself along, Ears flattening toward Smug. God, way too many confusing feels over here. Even with Mon helping her, he couldn't help but wonder how things would fair even after getting him into the water... Vad considered following even though body clearly had no capacity to do so, and the result was him landing flat on his face with a loud thunk. OW. Then his stomach growled not two seconds after, and the King was soon in fetal position because goddamn it, pain and hunger just immobilized bitches.
(15:44:44) Cortés had gone off to patrol the area, also...trying to find Drak. The other Tsar hadn't been around much, and he was sure the man would know that his brother was in such a dire situaton. So off he went, day in, day out, looking for the man in question. Eventually though, he knew he had to turn around and head back to the others. Cort was really...well... the only one left who was healthy enough, and strong enough, to protect the pack. Not that they weren't capable, but both his mentality and physica strength were at one hundred percent. Feeling a sense of defeat, he returned, his body running quickly toward the territory. Immediately he could smell old blood, and hear the going on's of the Vechnyy people. His body bristled at thhe thought of chaos. Was there an enemy about? Was there someone causing trouble? He'd never forgive himself if someone became hurt or taken advantage of by an unknown enemy. He picked up the velocity and barreled like a speeding bullet, and he superman. As he neared, he quickly gave bark, his throaty bariton ringing out loud enough to knock silence into the group, if possible. He huffed, his eye wide and his body shaking from running so hard. However it seemed there was nothing to worry about... so far. His eyes pinned onto the departing Zod, and he tsked. Whatever was wrong with him, he only hoped it wasn't too serious. Still, if Smug couldn't take the heat, he'd gladly takeover. So occassionally, he look toward them, while also aiming his sights on both the Maestro, and la Reina. He looked toward Nida, his skull nodding slightly in greeting. He then moved close toward Vad, his body lowering and inching forward so that he wasn't hovering over the man. "I went in search of tu hermano. Your brother. I could not find him." His tone was soft. The last thing he needed to do was bark in the man's face. He then would retract himself so that he stood, eye scanning over the lot. "If you all are hungry, speak now. I shall tear what I can from that monstruo bear." A fitting end for the beast.
(15:58:19) Nida crested with a rise of her head at the incessant chatter and noises. It was hard to ignore them, harder to return to a fruitful sleep. One eye, then the other, open finally to see Cortez running. Her eyes trail to the group in which he intented for. Nida looked down to see Cin was not where she remembered; and she took on a sense of restlessness, until it was calmed at the sight of her standing, as was Vad. A nod would be returned to chocolate thunder, and then find her awkward footing. It'd been a time since she found use of them. " Hermano?" she repeated, her uncertainty betrayed, " who are you searching for." Or what .. Eventually, her focus shift onto Smug carrying Zod, her muzzle holding a slant. Wordlessly, she moves, using every ounce of stubborn, a grip twice as strong ailed, pressing her to follow.
(16:12:47) Cinnema let her gaze flick around as all this was going on. Zod was going fucking crazy, but could she blame him? ..No. Smug's urging to lay herself down was met by ears pressing forward with eyes narrowing and lip curling slightly, but when Monro chose to chime in a snarl was let loose form her throat. Who did these women think they were that they could tell the alphas what to do? Obviously thought she wasn't going to do anything about it for now. Eyes would flick to the white fluff just as he fell again, causing her to bristle. Which she instantly relaxed from because of the pain and tension. Gently she bent down to grasp her half fawn before sights set on the area beside him. Okay, girl, easy steps here. Take it slow. Paws paced her over to him with the utmost care and attention as she felt for anything that might hurt upon her stomach to indicate she'd opened it up again. What a pain. But eventually she'd reach him, even as Zod was straddling the woman she still didn't know the name of and biting her scruff.. Nightmares pinged as a possible reason in her mind. While keeping an eye on that..situation, she would oh so carefully lower herself into a sit and then lay, twisting to the side so her wounds weren't being pressed against the ground. As then Cortes came over to them, causing Cin's ears to flick, and she stilled almost instantly at what came out of his mouth. She hadn't expected..or thought.. Forget everything else, she focused entirely on the Spaniard. It took her a moment to function again, and she dipped her head to nose the carcass she held over to Vad before a whine echoed from her throat, ears flicking to pin to her skull. She couldn't help it, utter worry overcoming her in an instant. It made no sense for him to be missing, especially with all this going on. So where was he? Eyes stared up at Cort as if she'd lost all sense of what was going on with everyone else. Which, for the moment, she had.
(16:26:18) Smug felt bad for snapping at Monro that way but she was just not used to being fussed over and wasn't sure how to take it to be honest. When Vad growled back at her, she whipped her head to him and glared right back as if to say 'OH you KNOW I will make you in front of everyone' before bearing the weight of Zod. She winced at his yelp, feeling bad, but she knew this was the best thing for him. Once he was in place, a loud growl was given as he latched on to her scruff with ivories and drew blood. The woman gritted her teeth and resisted the urge to buck him off or snap. "At least he won't fall off," she grumbled through tense jaw as she began her trek to the pond. It felt good to get her stiff limbs exercising again, even if the boy was HEAVY. She convinced herself it was a good burning sensation in her muscles and used that to ignore the pain or turn some of it into pleasure thanks to her masochistic tendencies. It made it bearable anyways. Gaze flicked to Cinn as she snarled at the two. Oops. Why did Smug open her mouth so much? She was just grumpy, which was rare for her since she preferred neutrality and burying all emotions. Cortes' entrance and words had the woman pausing and head lowering for a moment. Where was he? What could he be doing? It must be important to keep him away from the pack for so long, especially when they needed him. But she supposed he didn't know what had transpired with the bear and that he was needed. The biting on her scruff and flails from the tawny male atop her spurred her into moving once more. By the time she had reached the water's edge, breathing was labored and tongue lolled out in heavy pants while limbs shook slightly. At least she was strong. She lowered herself into the shallows and moved to roll to her side and force Zod off her back, hoping he would release his hold on her. Good thing she needed to have her own wounds cleaned as well. If he didn't let go, the woman would look to Nida for help.
(16:47:15) Zodiak saw nothing but the dark fur of the bear, it tried to run but he had it! Head thrashed side to side in his fever driven fury, high pitched squeels meshed with growls muffled into the scruff he so tightly clamped to. All the pain he felt was blamed on the bear, of which was actually smug, and he'd regret all of this later. Paws scratched and scrambled along her sides trying to get a better grip before the bear finally came to a halt. He felt it's body shifting downward. OH NO NOT AGAIN BEAR! He knew this trick and would be damned if that heavyweight would slam him to the dirt. Teeth released their grip from scruff and aimed to grab the bears face around the ears. Wether or not he actually managed to snag hold, gravity would have him slipping and franticly snapping jaws for what he could to hold on. Cold washed over his rear first, then his side, sending chills up his spine and triggering aggressive reflexes. The pain to his hind wounds caused by the water was blamed on the bear he was so desparate to do away with. He had to protect them.. to protect nida and this bear would never hurt any of them. Through adrenaline-pumped pain he'd rise from the shallows to all fours, half crouched as jaws sought to tear into the bear even more.
(17:41:26) Vadimir raged not unlike a bear within himself. That glare. THAT GLARE. Ooohhh if he had been capable he woulda beaten the tar out of her. Which, considering last time, likely wouldn't have ended well for either participant. Not in his mind anyway. Only bad things came from boning a female when in heat. MUST. MAKE. ESTRUS BUNKER. Body stiffened when Cinn neared, but looking at her with the fawn he instantly caught on. Appreciative nod was given, before Cortes thundered in like WAT UP BITCHES. "Vot...?" Hunger, pain, and even anxiety concerning Zod's feverish behavior all withered and dried up when the news of his brother's absence was delivered. Sure, Vadimir had noticed that Drak had been missing for a time. But he had thought it of little consequence, for the most part. Both brother's sometimes went off to be on their own when the stress of being leaders fell too heavily upon their shoulders and given how Drakov had been last time they'd interacted, it seemed like he needed some time alone to himself. No one else had noted his absence as strange, so why should he? But now... now Vadimir felt like he might fall to pieces. Eyes drifted toward Cinn, her outward appearance markedly similar, if not exactly the same as his own. "I have to find him." He'd say roughly. Injuries and resting be damned. What did death matter if his brother might be hurt, or worse? But as Zod grew progressively worse, Vadimir felt himself waver with a growing sense of unease. He couldn't leave now... it was bad enough one leader was gone. He couldn't expect Cinn to try and handle everything by herself, wounded as she was. Back end fumbled to the ground with a desperate, anguished howling screech as the Tsar turned on his own body, white-hot anger vented upon his battered and unwilling body. WORK DAMN YOU, WORK!!!!
(18:03:25) Cortés growled at the scene before him. This absolute chaos! It was not how this family worked. They fought, yes. But it was all in good fun, or to have some sort of training. This though, this was not what Cortes approved of. His own form of anger washed through him as he looked toward Zod, or was behaving like a demonic beast. Then toward Cin, who seemed to be wobbly, toward Vad who flopped about like a pitiful fish. He couldn't take it. "That's it," he ground out, his accent thickening as he spoke. He tossed his skull toward Vad, and narrowed his gaze. "I love you, Mi Maestro, but you can not move under these conditions." Holy shit, did he say love? WELP. That's awkwardness for another time. "Do not move, and if you can help it, do not even speak." He turned tail to spy Cin, though this was directed at both leaders. "I will seek Drak. You have nothing to worry, I will stop at nothing until he is found. And who knows, perhaps he will return soon enough... So please, go and rest..." Optimistic! He then shoved off toward the direction of Zod, his eye bright with annoyance. Clearly this man was unwell, and clearly he was the source of unease among the commons. He loved Zod too, but if beating sense into him was what was required, he'd do so. It took a moment before Cortes pushed himself into a run, propelling his legs against the ground like a rocket. He moved, running until he came upon the scene more clearly. His body aligned with Zod, and due to the man being in the water, Cortes literally jumped toward the injured man. Whether he landed on Zod or not, he'd aim to ram his body against the injured individual, teeth hoping to grab the man's fluff and fling him in the opposite direction of Smug.
(18:07:08) Cinnema, thoughts spiraled as Vad reacted similarly to her. She was pissed that she could do nothing at the moment and increasingly upset that Drakov was missing. Instead of focusing on anything, she kept herself there laying almost shellshocked with a war raging on in her head, meanwhile a whine escaping her quite uncontrollably. Until Cortes spoke up and snapped her from her thoughts as if slapping her in the face. Ears swiveled to hear, and she continued to frown but no longer made pitiful noise. She had to..trust that Cort was right. Yes, Drakov would show up.. But until she knew that for sure, she wasn't planning on sitting around here while watching everyone struggle and not being able to do anything about it. Screw the injuries, she pulled herself up with wobbling steps and retreated into the den, not minding the few drops of crimson leaking from her stomach. The pull was only slight and it would stop soon, but meanwhile her physical pain was something to focus on as she curled up into a ball within the den, hiding.
(18:14:08) Nida raked the dejected, injuried, and some exhausted members with a stoic look. Nida struggled with stiff and cramped legs after the persons of interest. The side of her neck was scabbed, at the site there was a crowd of flies, buzzing in her ear that took to a spasmodic twitch. She observed Zod on back lash out with fury she'd never witnessed, and observed with a grave expression. No words still... At the foot of the pond, she comes to a rest, standing still and eyeing the wavelets the inhabitants dwelling inside create with their constant movements. It was disturbed further by Smug and Zod, delirious and having gone mad, and she postures with alarm. Oh noes .. When a blur of brown and white sprung to animation within her field of view, she too did the same; as Cortez flung him away from doing harm to any, that is, if the feat chocolate thunder pulled goes without a hitch, Nida coerced herself to ram into the shoulder of Zod with bosom and grasp his neck all while trying to influence him onto his side. Whatever guilt touched her features evaporated with a justified reason, one she'd forgo voicing.
(18:30:19) Yusef had not been at the den in days. Since he brought Tibie back, he had been missing! But now he returned...and he did not look so good. His white pelt was streaked with blood, one of his violet eyes squeezed shut. His face marked with blood that seeped through his nostrils and even out from his lips, his gait weak. His right foreleg was worried, lifted from the ground and only gingerly touching as he limped weakly forward. Even so, he brought something with him--two somethings, in fact. Bear cubs. Larger bear cubs, in fact. His breathing was heavy, but he seemed more than determined to make it back to the den with his prizes, because fuck them. Fuck these stupid brown bastards.
(19:12:41) Zodiak. The water was cold, despite the warm summer air. So allthewhile zod was wrestling with smug, more and more coherent thoughts came in to play. The halucination itself was still alive and well but the thoughts of his pack, protecting them, doing good to THEM. These now started to overtake the drive of meerly defeating said bear. He'd fallen to his side for a moment, coating thick pelt in the cool waters but upon rising from it's depths, the heat within him continued to spread like wildfire. He'd lashed out at the bear who's glowing eyes taunted him, telling him he was weak. Pupils were wide and filled with something that was not him; this wasn't zodi. There was a flicker of reality as he lunged for the beast, a flicker that showed a packmate for a split second, just enough for him to hesitate as something rather large came plowing into him. Shrill cry burst from his lungs upon impact, and repeated several times as he was grabbed and flung to the side. Confusion hit him as he plumited into slightly deeper waters, only to be ramed yet again and forced downward. Lips curled and he struggled beneath the grip, trying his best to snap at the creatures face (nida) through blurred vision. Then it hit him, the ultimate spike of the fever as if someone hit him in the head with a hot iron. Dizzieness came first as he stiffened, taking deep, rasping breaths like some dying animal. Several seconds passed before head, unable to be supported by weakening frame, collapsed into the water. Chest widened with intake of breath, but water has a funny think of cutting off air. Frame seized and hacked and head was thrust from below the surface, zodi struggling to get his bearings, and if able would shift closer to the shore before allowing head to collapse again along the bank.
(19:29:50) Nida's fierce snarl was dulled by the exhaustion and fur and flesh in mouth. There was a splash where Zod fell and an unexpected cry, something which roused her dubious thoughts. Nida's grip slipped from his neck to pull away, and at the decision she was struck; his near blind snap to her face, nicked, was met with a raucous snarl and swift reprimand. She'd mouthed over his muzzle if allowed- she definitely wasn't pleased with what transpired ...! Nida had lingered scarcely a half-second in her place as Zod struggled to abscond from the waters. At least his episode dissipated. The burly woman followed him to the shore where she'd lower onto her going lame legs. Her head sets atop his and offer licks of comfort. She smelled blood and her eyes narrow to Yus, bigger than last seen, carrying what seems to be a mouthful.
(19:34:12) Yusef's chest heaved as he dropped the bear carcasses. He had been unable to help take out the adult bear, due to his own miscalculations...so the very least he could do was to make sure that creatures' foul legacy did not live on. Though he was weak from blood loss and more than likely one giant, massive bruise, he felt a swelling of pride. He'd returned to find his family at least mostly intact. Everybody was injured, tired, sore, infected, bloodied...but alive. And that was good. He left the bear cubs bodies at the mouth of the den for a moment, before turning to head off again--someone could come with him if they pleased, but he was not going to lie around and do nothing while his family suffered. Here now, they had meat. Now they needed something else--health. He would find someone that knew about caretaking wounds and healing and painkilling.... that was his task.
(20:01:49) Cortés had successfully thrown the brute of the female. Though he was surprised to find that another had aided him in his task. He wouldn't complain. Though As they managed to bring back the delirious brute, Cortes would halt. Almost as if a calm enveloped him, he watched as Zod crawled onto the river bank, his eye following him intently as he did so. Then he took note of Yusef carrying in some young bear cubs. Deceased by the looks of it. Most likely those of the larger bear. Well...they would have died anyway. Without the parent, the young cubs would have starved to death. What better end, then by the jaws of the wolf? Though that brings to question. Perhaps the adult bear in which Vechnyy encountered, had merely attempted tto protect it's progeny. Failing, of course... But it was something to think about. He huffed slightly and turned to wade from the water, his thoughts circling as he did so. No longer irritated by the turn of events, he would shake out his big ass fluffy self, and look over them all. "I will patrol, and see to it that I find Drak. Whomever can fight, do so, and protect Vechnyy." He would then depart in the opposite direction of Yusef, unless he was spoken to, of course.
(20:14:15) Nida remain where she was, motionless, until a portion of strength found her. That was when her aching and stumpy legs straightened in order to stand upright. She saw Vad passed out. Good, it meant she didn't have to babysit, bark commands, and bother with going the extra mile. Seeing the two men part ways, Yus going one, Cort going the other, she leered at the pair before shadowing one. Of course, she dogged on brown and white domestic's heels. Her mind ran with a flurry -- thoughts, ideas, and opinions flurry the fore of Nida. " Wait," she huffed, laboring to pick up pace to then slow for his, " let me go with." She breathed with short, quick breaths; nearly out of them from the exertion.
(21:21:33) Zodiak's mind blocked out everything in the moment he collapsed. Vision went black, hearing shut off, mind went black. He was out cold. The fever had peaked and the cool water was finally forcing it to break. Body started to shiver, a normal, yet startling reflex as he looked as if he'd freeze to death in the summer sun. Glimpses of his life; memories, started to take shape and return to their rightful places within his mind. Most of the events that recently took place were gone, the memory never stored in databank. However, at the moment where memory had begun to shift...there was an incident...Where his fangs struck the very wolf he loved more than anything. Sudden deep intake of air was taken and he jolted up into a half sit. The action was much faster than his body could respond so he wavered there for a moment, rapidly breathing and gazing around in search of nida. He hurt her!!! Several soft whimpers escaped him and he forced himsself to all fours, stumbling forward before balancing himself in an unsteady manner. His whole body trembled and he felt sick. Slowly and carefully he turned around and took several long moments to drink from the cool water, he felt as if he hadn't drank in days--weeks. When stomach couldn't take no more, he'd stumble in a circle until eyes found nida. Head lowered and he made attempt to move to her. The first step reminded him of the old pain in combination with new pain from being tackled and he yelped, half collapsing to the ground. He remained stationed for a short while before trying again, snarling through the effort it took to stand and stiffly shuffling towards her. He didn't even know why he bit her...what happened? why was he wet? Groaaannnn!
(21:31:49) Cortés slowed his walk as he noted a tag along with him. Curious, he moved to face her, expression that once held a stern and irritated look, melted into a soft kindess. Warmth radiated from him, and he nodded gently. "What is it, señorita Nida?" He raised a brow, curious as to why he'd been stopped. Though the moment he turned, eye sight caughht Zod, and a frown immediately graced his lips. Cortes moved then, side stepping the woman in order to put himself in front of her. He didn't know if Zod would have another spell and attack, or simply collapse before he even got to them. The man clearly needed help. Without turning his skull, he spoke, his words aiming for Nida's ear. "Help your beloved. He needs it." He turned his skull then, and tilted his skull. "What is it that you stopped me. Is something bothering you still?" He wouldn't blame her if she had some sort of issues going on, either mental of physical. He'd be surprised if she didn't.Cortés slowed his walk as he noted a tag along with him. (21:42:40) Nida, ever-greatful for his patience conceding with time, pointed a soft grin his way. Though it fades with the seriousness catching her expression. " I wish to go .." she paused, turning her head when his does, to catch sight of Zod. Before a voicing any thoughts Cortez stepped in, nudging her side wise and thereby distracting her. The words hushed words a mere whisper has her glancing to him then Zod, torn. " Zod .. please," hopefully there was sense about him this time, " you need to rest. You are hurt as is .." Nida made a stiff sit and planted her paws neatly, " I came to offer assistance. Anything I can do to help find him." Playing pronoun games- the best to have on hand, eh?
(21:56:31) Zodiak slowly made his way toward nida, motion only stopping when cort's gaze met his. His look was one of displeasure. Head tilted and body stopped, standing there with solemn expression as he watched cort and nida interact. He was too far to make out what they were saying. Had something gone wrong? Perhaps...the reason he was wet? Another series of shivers took him over but he remained put, standing like a lost dog as he looked on for any hint that it was ok. Nida came forward and her words forced a reverse step and decline in cranial elevation. He looked to the ground for a moment, then to nida, lifting his posture some. Had he really hurt her that bad? Low pleading whine slowly crept from closed jaws, seeping out to carry a sound that would break hearts. Ear flicked back and he'd cast a glance to either side; deciding, before he lowered his head and slowly made his way toward the den with tail tucked high against his belly. He'd go find a quiet isolated place within the rocks that made the den to curl up and sleep.
(22:12:46) Cortés would have lowered his ears if he had them, but alas, he did not. Instead, he shook his head, and watched as Zod moved on. The sight was sad. Pitiful. They all were. That bear truely did a number on them all, and not only was everyone all depressed, but Drak was gone as well, dropping morale even further. Clenching his jaw, he tried to pump up his energies, and think in a positive light. This was only a road bump. Everything would be fine. Cortes would turn toward Nida. "If you wish it, do what you feel is right. Whether that means helping me, or not." He then moved to go off, but hesitated slightly. Shit. What if someone attacked while he was gone? He was the only physically able canine capable of protecting everyone. Nida, though strong, was carrying young. He knew Zod, despite his delirious display, cared for the woman. He'd probably rant and rave if Cortes ran off with her in tow. He grunted slightly. He had a better idea. "On second thought, I will stay here." He would attempt to nudge Nida if she decided to protest. "I will have my student take care of this task. She is agile with the wood work, and will be able to find Drak much faster than I can." He would attempt to shove Nida toward the center of the courtyard, if possible. "If I were to leave now, what is to say if some other predator or enemy took advantage of our plight? I would not be doing my job if I left while everyone is recovering, even if it is to look for Drak."
(22:23:21) Nida's confidence nosedived at his step back, her ears slicked against her head. " Zod," said she. " Where are you going ..?" In a tumult of emotions, as each weighing two tons, she glanced to the domestic for clarity. Though none was to be found. She went on without it. Her eyes watch Zod retreat to whence he came, back to the rest of them. Still staring, she spoke, voice above a whisper, though raised to have been heard, " you think he is angry .. for endangering those around him ..?" This would be spoken as the dithering affected the other's pace. Hearing the interjection of thought, a change of heart, Nida steers a glimpse. She wonders much about what sat on his mind, beyond what was spoken in the open. " There is Monro and Smug. " And the male she did not know the name of. " They are able," she'd states, pushed closer to the den and Zod. Oh, that's right. Her neck turns with careful deliberation, " why did you run from me?"
(22:38:34) Hadlee remained hidden from the group despite her claims of growing more confident. In truth, she worried of the small line that her life still held within the pack. If the brothers had it their way, she would have been dead long ago. Still, the sounds from the front of the den brought her out. Even after many moments of talk between those of the pack, there was no way she could keep her interest at bay. So, she moved forward with slow and easy steps. Only seconds came until she found the only three that she knew. That damn boy who was no longer a boy, the girl who Cin had been so excited to show her, and Cortes with his many secrets. Cautious steps were taken forward until she was only a few yards away. Were they injured? Perhaps, but she would not speak until she needed to.
(22:45:51) Zodiak's steps were abscent strain or emotion. Paws dragged partially through the dirt as he slowly made his way toward the den. He hurt her... Quiet whine escaped him that was cut short by pained rib. Teeth clenched tightly and if he could run, he would, if wolves could cry? He'd definately have a manly cry right now. He never wanted to hurt nida...All of this; the fight with the bear, everything that led to whatever caused him to hurt her. He'd stop in his steps, hanging head low and allowing tail to go limp. Gaze lifted to spot Hadlee but a few paces infront of him. Lost in thought he didn't even notice. He'd stare for a moment, unsure of himself and everything. Head turned from her and body was shifting to move away when all of a sudden nida was there. He froze, hearing her words but stuck in place like a deer in headlights. Single ear had flicked forward and was now twisting back, tail clinging to his belly once again. Gaze shifted to the mark on her face... His mark and his features grew more pained when actually faced with the damage done. Nose would stretch forward slowly to sniff at it before tender lick was applied. "w...what have I done?...." he whined, rubbing his muzzle up underneath her chin.
(23:30:29) Cortés raised a brow. Were they able? He wasn't sure. He didn't know the injuries these people held. Whether internal or external, he wasn't sure. Still thoughh, he nodded at her words. At her comment of Zod, he gave a dry chuckle. "I am sure he feels horrid." Cortes knew the feeling. Back when he had his own fits, he was sure he accidently killed his own pups. Hurting his family had made him go mad. "Comfort him, he should need it." And regardless if she did or didn't, Cortes would move off, eye spotting Hadlee. He moved slowly, a smile forming on his lips, and a little bow upon his skull. "Hola, amiga. You missed quite the mess." He turned to view everyone, Zod, Nida, Smug, Vad... Cin of course was probably nursing her own wounds within the depths of the den. He sighed and shook his skull briefy, and turned toward Hadlee. "I expect you to prove yourself more than ever now. This is your opportunity."
(23:35:34) Nida knew she ought to say something, but the words caught in her throat. The lacerations to the side of he neck ached and a breath sharp was made. Her eyes shift over toward the near-porcelain woman, whom she'd seen several times in passing, and recalled was related to Cinn, but other than that there was scant an impression on her brain. Not a pity of a wrinkle! Focus turned to Cortez at his advice, far better than Vad's words of 'encouragement'. Her chin raised as Zod's head ducked beneath it, tail moving softly, and eyes closing momentarily. " Whatever it was .. it wasn't you," was her reply that took her long enough. " Everyone is fine."
(23:51:54) Smug had moved off into the water after Zod had successfully clamped down around her skull and raked teeth in a non-severe but still stinging manner along the sides of her face. The woman harbored no hard feelings towards the male since she recognized the manic eyes of a hallucination, having experienced too many of her own. She would have liked to stay and talk him out of it, but Cort and Nida had soon tackled him and frankly, she was too mentally tired to try and convince them it was ok. So she had moved farther into the water until she had to swim to keep her head afloat while studiously ignoring what was happening on the banks. It was a good burn that worked its way through her muscles as she doggy paddled. A sigh of relief ushered forth as she could feel the caked on blood and dirt and all the nasty begin to fall away from her pelt as well. With paws touching the floor once more, head was dipped under quickly then shaken too send water flying. She wasn't sure how long she bathed and exercised for but when Smug had finished and dragged her ass back to shore, Zod was canoodling with Nida, Cinn had retreated to the den, Vad was passed out, and Cort was with Hadlee. Shaky legs held her brawny frame up while she shook the clinging water away. Man, she felt a million times better. Renewed with energy from the feeling of being clean, the Earthen-toned woman made her way to the lovebirds. "It's ok Zod," she offered him and moved in to touch nose to cheek. "I know all too well what that must have been like for you..." Her throat constricted slightly as memories brought her back but a shake of the head cleared it.
Zodiak felt a wash of releif when muzzle was reunited with nida. Soft-toned whine seeped out as he pressed deeper into her. Tail even mustered the energy to sway happily. Her words had him taking a step back with a tilt of head. ..Wasn't...him? Ear flicked back and he thought on it, trying to remember but the last thing he could remember was laying down with vad the day before. Searching expression caught him, he was looking for answers that seemed nonexistant to him. Then there was smug's voice that broke his thought and struck even more confusion. What the hell did he do???!!! Body was gripped with pain as cold shivers engulfed him once again. The fever was in it's decline, the halucinations gone but after effects still remaining. He was suddenly dizzy again and head leaned forward to press against nida's chest, body trembling endlessly before hind end swayed and dropped into a sit. Confused looks would be cast to both girls, smug because he had no idea what she was talking about, and nida, because he didn't understand what was going on. It only lasted a moment before face was burried back into his mate, trying to summon happier thoughts like the pups within her ever-growing belly.
(00:32:56) Hadlee wandered in to quite the thing. When she was there, it was only Cortes that held her attention. "How do you suppose I do so?" She questioned out to the man as he wandered from their little gathering. It took moments for her eyes to turn back to the others. First Nida then to Zodiak. "What happened to you all? Everyone is either half dead or sleeping off whatever caused you all these wounds." While Zodiak had no place in her mind or heart, she questioned him first. "Give me a way to help and I will." While Hadlee was still not fully healed, she was in a far better state than all those around. As Smug appeared, the woman's dulled gaze turned in a rather cautious way. "And you are?" While being polite was her norm, it seemed as if the influx of strangers was doing something rather interesting to her.
(00:43:57) Nida gave Smug the side-glance as she approached, tail thumping mildly. Her words have both her brows cocking up with heightened interests, perhaps an open book in regards to gleeful hope. Nida gazed off to Corte addressing the pale woman before taking off. Her face weighed with a frown, " bear attack." Nida paused for a couple of moments. " You can help by nursing the others wounds, patroling for intruders, or go help find the missing alpha, Drakov." Those were the bulk of the tasks presently. She licked at Zod's ear, half of what it is, before she moved to her fours. " I'm going to sleep," she'd announce drowsily. Her stomach felt funny.
(00:57:02) Smug's eyes shifted between Zodiak's as he looked at her confused. Seems he still didn't know about the hallucinations. The scarred woman always remembered hers nowadays, but she could recall a time where she couldn't. It was a conversation to be saved for another day. "Get some rest you two," she whispered before turning away. olive gaze found Cortes' retreating form and Hadlee standing there with a near-glare. Sigh. Head moved to nod and reiterate what Nida was saying. "Or hunting, all are useful tasks," she added before moving away from the sleepy duo. "Smug," she replied curtly, already knowing who the Rab was. Seems the pallid woman didn't recall meeting her. Blood dripped into her eye from her fresh head wound form Zodi and she shook her head to clear it. Frame moved to settle into a sit beside the unconscious form of the remaining Tsar before gaze flicked back up to Hadlee. She felt pretty useless sitting there, but was unsure what to do. All of her muscles ached in protest with any movement, but this wouldn't stop her from pushing herself for her pack.
(01:05:23) Zodiak listened to the two as they spoke with hadlee. Tail swayed some just for the fact he was close to nida. Whatever he'd done wrong he'd right it a hundred times over. A lick to the ear signaled nida's departure and paired with the words from smug, he nodded. Unsteady frame would rise to all fours and stiffly limp after nida, following to rest alongside her.

Continued from DELUSIONAL
Hadlee could only nod to Nida as she spoke out her commands to her. While she was not content to take them, she did as she was told to. With a sigh, she turned her Smug. With Zodiak and Nida leaving with one another, she allowed her body to take her to this one. "Come here." She commanded in her own hushed tone. There was no aggressiveness within her words. Instead, Hadlee did the first of what she was asked. "You're bleeding." Her words turned soft as she offered the girl a clean wound. With the use of her tongue, she would attempt to clean the wound without more coming from her lips. At least, not until she was done. "Why on earth would you submit yourself to this...?" Sure. She was a part of this group and trusted her sister with her life, but that did not mean that she trusted the passed out man to her side or the brother that held the crown.
Smug watched the retreating forms before glancing down at the banged up Vad. Man, they were all in such awful states. Head lifted to eye the woman as she moved toward her. Lip curled up to reveal an incisor, but head lowered to allow the wound to be cleaned. She had managed to clean the large gashes along her hip and rump in the water and damp fur was free from the nasties of dirt and infection finally, but the head wound was too fresh to have scabbed over. A growl ushered forth from her maw as head whipped up to glare at the pale woman. "Because they deserve it." Eyes once more found Vad and memories were cast back to Drak who had saved her from the pronged collar and cleaned her wounds their first meeting. He hadn't even known her then, a complete stranger. She had even snapped at him in her hallucinogenic state and he STILL helped her. All she had known in life was training, torture, and the pit. No shreds of kindness or mercy. You lived by tooth and blood and fought to earn your life. It helped her understand the ways of the pack on a level most wouldn't due to their violent nature. The scarred woman was also able to see the kindness, generosity, and sense of family that came along with them. Others might have stopped looking at the surface and failed to dig a little to find what she had here. It seemed Hadlee was one of them. It was something that just wasn't able to be explained. A sigh came forth from her maw as face returned to normal and she forced herself to calm. She could see where Hadlee was coming from. "Growing up the way I did, it was every mutt for themselves. Here though... We are family. And you fight for your family." Olive gaze searched Hadlee's since she knew how loyal the woman was to Cin. Smug just tried to get her to see that everyone in Vechnyy was family and privileged to equal loyalty in Smug's eyes as Cin was to her.
Hadlee let out her own sort of sigh when she approached the woman with her teeth so slightly ready for her. "I won't bring you harm. I promise you that." She said in a rather quiet tone. When she finished with the wound, she did not pull away. Instead, she lowered her frame beside the woman to hear the words that she was offered. In truth, she had only seen the harm that the brothers had brought to their family. The harm that they brought to her own flesh and blood was all too dizzying to see. Still, they brought so much loyalty to those around. "These men..." She nodded back to Vad who lay so close. "I've seen the pain that they've brought to others... the pain that they've brought to me. Still, loyalty is something that is earned not demanded." A pause came as those dulled eyes traced Smug's. "There's no pain in the way that you talk about the brothers... Perhaps there is hope for me yet." A small laugh touched her lips as she dropped her gaze. "If I am not killed soon enough for being as low as I am, perhaps I can learn what brought your loyalty to them." Her words were no louder than a whisper at this point. No need waking up the man to her side. Bad things often happened when he was around.
Smug nodded as she looked down at the woman then shifted gaze to the pale male. She knew they had been cruel at times. Life had been cruel to them though. Drak's words about their similar pasts to hers stuck with her. She would have turned into a cold and cruel bitch would she have never found a family, she was pretty sure. Or she could have chanced upon a different pack with different morals and forced her into servitude. As far as she was concerned, they had earned the right to not only her loyalty and respect, but the others in the pack as well. "Life can be cruel and not everyone handles that the same way. I believe they are changing though," she said gently. Thoughts were cast back to the intimate moments she had shared with Vad prior to the bear attack. Oh, what was she going to do... Probably whoop his ass for making her feel such emotion when she wished not to. Pfft. Males... couldn't keep their privates in their... fur. >>; Her own frame was lowered to the ground rather stiffly as attention was returned to the female. "There is always hope, so long as you shall live." A smile was offered then before gaze cast about Hadlee's own injuries. "May I help you with anything?" She queried. It was unusual for her to talk so much, preferring comfortable silence, but she was too tired to keep the walls erect in her brain. She had also cleaned everyone else's bloody wounds, so what was one more?
Hadlee fell into silence, allowing for her head to rest on her paws. While her eyes remained on the woman who sat rather slowly in front of her, she would not speak all too easily. It took moments of concentration and thought for her words to come. "I can only hope so. For my sister's sake and all those who serve them." While she hoped that she would not be submitted to their torment, she would take it before those around her. If only to spare pain to others, she would take it herself. She realized that all too easily. "I will keep that hope despite my days being numbered. Thank you, Smug..." She said rather distantly. While her ear was looking more healed by the day, the wounds on her neck and jawline continued to break open with any sort of reckless movement. Still, she requested nothing. "I'm not one that needs to be worried about. I've seen the others... I've seen the wounds for this bear. Care for them. They deserve it far more than I do."
Smug gave a small nod at the woman's words, agreeing in those hopes. The pups seemed to have spurred some emotions from the brothers that they did not know they had and in turn that set things in motion for everyone else. "Well, they've both saved my life now," she said as gaze turned to the general area of the bear carcass. She wanted to spit at it, but bit back the childish urge. It was dead, it was done. Olive gaze was brought back to the woman, slight surprise flashing across them at her thanks. Then a tsk noise and shake of her head in place of an eyeroll was given as she scooted closer to the other woman. "I've cleaned their asses enough. You were to first to clean me, so I will return the favor." Body lowered to lie next to the Rab while paw came up to lay across back and hold her still gently while tongue set about caring for the ugly wounds.
Hadlee let out a small chuckle as the woman spoke of the brothers. "They take care of their own." It was something that they reminded her each chance that she got. Perhaps Vadimir or Drakov would gain her loyalty with time. It would be a strange thing to see indeed. "You can give me your disapproval all you want." She scoffed back to the woman. "I will never deserve the kindness of those here." In truth, she believed it all too well. No matter, Lee did not pull away from the woman's touch or the kindness that she offered. Even as the sting of her tongue came from the broken wounds, Hadlee allowed for each motion. "Thank you." was whispered out soon enough.
Smug remained silent, not knowing how to answer the woman. Each had their own opinion and she respected it. The brawler could only hope that Lee's views about herself and the pack would change in time. Earthen-toned woman continued administering her cleaning until she was complete and the pale one was asleep. Soft sigh parted her lips then as she removed her paw and shuffled away some to let her rest in peace. Olive gaze drifted about the courtyard and the sleeping bodies within to finally rest on Vad. He seemed angry at her... whoops. Oh well. He needed to rest and she was not afraid to butt heads on the matter if it sped his recovery. She would take the beating it would yield later, though probably with some fight still. She moved her frame over to him and began cleaning the wounds that had seemed to open and the dirt that clung to the scabs. He looked like a mess. At least now she had some energy to do a more thorough job. Smug hoped that no one would catch more infection after Zod since that would be quite an issue. The pack needed Vad healthy at the moment with Drak missing. Once she was done, head lowered to rest on paws and mind began to drift into slumber.
Yusef had wandered off, but returned looking...well, still pretty bad. He collapsed tiredly just within the borders of the main area, huffing heavily. There he lay for a long, long few moments, legs crumpled beneath him. Tired...so, so tired...
Smug was startled from her drifting at the noisy arrival of another pack member. Olive eyes popped open and searching gaze fell upon the pup. "What happened to you? she called from her place beside the Tsar. The woman was always more tense around the younguns as they served to remind her of what she had lost. They sometimes triggered the memories into hallucinations so she had to be careful so as not to let that happen. The pup looked exhausted though and she wondered what he had been up to to leave him looking so disheveled.
Yusef. Well, besides killing bear cubs and badgers and hunting for things to try to heal his packmates? Nothing much. His shoulders were bloodied and his coat looked more a lovely shade of strawberry than the white and mottled shades of blue-grey it should have been. His bleary gaze lifted to Smug, and he snorted, the sound gurgling and bloodied, no thanks to the blood still pouring out of his nostrils.
Smug eyed the boy before pushing up from her comfortable position into a stand. Shake of the fur was given before she made her way stiffly over to him. "Let me clean your wounds before you get an infection like Zod," she commanded in a soft voice. Not one for babying but she knew she held no real jurisdiction over the lad. The woman only wanted to help and prevent another raging manic from attacking her. The gashes on the sides of her skull were proof that hallucinations induced from fevers could be dangerous. When she stood over the pup, woman would drop haunches to the dirt in a sit and use her large paw to sweep him closer to her. If he protested, she would growl at him. "We cannot afford anymore sickness."
